remember those wii health and safety screens telling you to tighten the wrist strap so you dont fling your wii mote into your tv? just awful. nintendo is like the 'mom' of videogame companies

nintendoboy16
Because god forbid they prevent a lawsuit in regards to any damage done by swinging the damn thing.

they treat you like a f%king moron. its embarassing. I know they overexplain everything because they want to appeal to kids but goddamn nintendo, even kids aren't as stupid as you think they are. the tutorial sections in twilight princess were painful. I literally dropped the game for about 3 months and played other stuff because the long-ass tutorial section bored me to tears

at my new college there's a large number of people wearing plaid, black-rimmed glasses, american-apparell hoodies, doc martens and the like. it seems geek culture and hipster culture have fused into one thing and are indistinguishable from eachother

thats somewhat disturbing I guess

GTA 4, but don't ask me why.

Fantastic story, best DLC this generation, multiplayer for replayablility, I don't know why people had issues with the shooting or driving (bad at games perhaps?).

The graphics have not aged well though, looks too washed out most of the time.

moistsandwich

Having to drive back to mission start if you fail.

Constantly being bothered by "friends" to go bowling, play darts, etc. AND if you don't, had a negative effect on your game. That sh_t drove me crazy.

These 2 things ruined what otherwise would have been one of my favorite games.

I tried multiple times to get through the game... I just couldn't do it.

those are petty reasons to hate a game

Why can't I vote Modern Warfare 2?

The game had excellent reception at launch, but after about 5-7 months, the game was nigh unenjoyable due to quickscoping, Commando, OMA DC grenade launchers, and pervasive boosting.

realguitarhero5
that's a legitimate one but everyone would vote for that one. I like to see some parity in the poll

what are games that got AMAZING 10/10 AAAE reviews that the gaming public rejected and decided was shit some time after the hype died down?

the biggest turnaround in public opinion i've seen was with MGS4. it was weird, when it first came out everybody loved it, including gamers. people were calling it the best game of all time. but once the dust settled and the hysteria wore off, gamers started to look at it more critically and collectively decided it was shit and the worst in the series. the the nanomachines meme started. that game's kind of become a punchline in the industry now how NOT to tell a story (with super long cutscenes, retcons, and nanomachines used to explain everything). it weird how that happened

do western devs really look at it like that though? do you think there are american devs that would say 'I want american games to be the best'

[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"][QUOTE="carljohnson3456"]Should have stoppped at 4. At least for awhile. Minishdriveby
2 was his "last game". Then 3 came out and was his "last game". Then came Portable Ops. Then 4, his "last game". Then Peace Walker. Now 5. Why give up something that is such a commercial success? It would be easy to spread the MGS storytelling and style to many different eras, so long as they remain consistent with the non-4 canon.

Why is Breaking Bad ending at season 5 when they could make 4+ more seasons with the ratings they have now?

because they want to go out on top instead of crapping out unnecessary filler seasons like dexter

he's mentioned this a few times that he wants japan to get back to the glory days when they were on top and everyone looked to japan for inspiration when developing their own games.

is he the only one that looks at it like a competition or do you think western devs do too?

BPoole96
Keiji Inafune says similar things.

Inafune, Kojima, From Software, Nintendo, and Platinum games are the last bastion of hope for the Japanese games industry

get nintendo out of there what a creatively bankrupt company
