Played the BWE2 and I think it will be only fair to say things have graphically improved :)

@BrunoBRS

The screen shots look nice. That's why I pre-purchased. But when we move around, the aritistic textures and low poly objects don't look very HD quality.

Incidentely, what are your graphics settings?

BrunoBRS
i was running it maxed around 30fps (being raised with consoles means you don't give a damn about 60fps :P). i'm running on an i7-870 (so 4 cores, 2.90GHz) with a radeon HD 5770, but from what i hear the game's so unoptimized it doesn't even bother accessing multiple cores or the video card. and i don't remember many objects or textures that made me cringe, they mostly look smooth. i recorded a bunch of videos too, and they don't seem bad to me (horrible lag aside). elaborate on the low poly objects and LQ textures?

I was hoping to see some in game specs. I have set all to max. Also I use nVidia GTX 590.

Check out Diablo III reviews on neutral forums like MetaCritic and Gamespot. One guy (Psychodrake) writes:

"Where do I start. Graphics - Woah. One of the biggest developers in the world can't even deliver a game that looks half decent. What is the bloody industry coming to. Not even Blizzard care about taking steps forward with technology. The game suffers from low-res textures, low-poly models and some of the sloppiest animation work I have ever witnessed..."

I am afraind, the same is going to happen with GW2 if they attempt to march on with last decade's graphics quality.

I only played 2 hours yesterday, 1 hour on WvWvW and 1 hour of pve with my guardian. The pvp was an horrible experience. The game was extremely laggy and melee characters just don't work in this game. If you take an initiative, you die instantly, so I was stuck with my staff doing silly dps with the other ranged, not knowing if I was even killing anything. On the other side, I had a blast with the pve. I went from 15 to 17, but I took the time to explore. It reminds me all the fun I had in mmo like lotroFranko_3

Played PvE myself, and encountered no noticeable lag. I did notice a lot of negative difference in graphics and beauty when compared to Skyrim or Crysis. It just looks poor.

Sometimes there will be an yellow bar in the middle of the screen. I think it shows up when combos occur. What does it represent? What happens when it changes thickness?

Played GW. I still think the texture details of GW are a little bit better than that of GW2 beta.

The use of DirectX9 was actually deeply disturbing. I know they have been working on the game for a while now; but, couldn't they have recompiled the whole thing for DirectX11 before the beta; just so everything gets tested properly?
