The game freezes with 8800 GTX after a while (Win 7 32-bit). After all this time of upgrades and patches. Any solutions?

Can't find the monster to kill. May have killed it already and sold the loot. They shouldn't have allowed people to sell off a quest item. But just to be sure can someone please post a screenshot of where to find the target monster? Also, is there a way to get the quest loot item back? - Thanks.

Click that lower right 'back' icon.techpunk
Thanks! But this mostly happens while probing planets (when cursor is locked onto the planet and there is no button).

Sometimes pressing 'Esc' key doesn't get me out of the planet codex screen. How do I circumvent this bug?

I have no clue what you're referring to about a drag time afterwards, it shifts instantly once I quit the movie. MadCat46
The movie is basically non-responsive while its loading.

Er, it does that because the game is loading itself while playing the video so you have something to stare at other than a loading screen. Why is that method dumber than simply sticking a loading screen in there?

MadCat46
Because loading screens are usually less time taking. How much does the game need to load before it actually starts? Besides, when we click to cancel the intro video, it drags on and finally stops at a random time in future.

Found this on the Civ Fantics forum: For Civ5, go to My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\UserSettings.ini, and change SkipIntroVideo = 0 to SkipIntroVideo = 1

Note: You will only see a black screen while the game loads, so don't worry. Apparently the into movie was the "loading screen." That's why it doesn't go away immediatly when you wan to skip it; you're game hasn't loaded yet. Dumb, I know.

Thanks. Some why I prefer the blank screen to the movie.

[QUOTE="DanielDust"]Huh o_0? How is that a bug? you'll find mods to remove the intro for lots of games, just google it.

All good software developers know that all bad features are actually received as bugs. Is it legal to use to mod to alter the software? I thought mods were like playable scenario additions.

I think it's the worst idea of the game. It doesn't go away immediately. It's a bug.
