Decided to make the plunge and pick up a PS3, but now reading somethings and wanted clarification before I open the box. I was looking through the FAQs and didn't see the answer there. I have an HDTV with 1080i and it DOES NOT support 720p, is this going to be an issue? I saw in some articles I googled that back in Nov of 2006 that if I game was set up to use 720p, a tv like mine would down convert it to 480p instead of going to 1080i. Is this still an issue or did Sony fix this? I have seen it where something tries to flip to 720p and I get static on my screen and I really don't want to see that. Hoping this won't be a problem and I can open my purchase tonight.
It took about 5 days to get the box from them. I shipped it back to them immediately. They recieved it in about 3 days. That was about 2 weeks ago and they have not emailed me yet saying ithas beenfixed. I have read on some forums that it is taking anywhere from 3 to 5 weeks for them to fix it once they receive it.
Does anyone know what the turnaround time is right now for fixing the Red Ring of Death? They received mine a few days ago and was wondering what kind of time frame to expect on getting it back. I have read somewhere that it is taking from 3 to 5 weeks now. Has anyone who has sent theres in to get fixed in the last couple of weeks hear anything?
Just keep it well ventilated and horizontal and dont shake it...and nothin will go wrong. Rings of death happen when you have your 360 all dusty, vertical, and it gets shaken a lot. Just take care of it.boomshakalaka88
Wow, this is the most untrue statements I have seen.
I just got the 3 red rings and the cost to get it fixed is going to be $140.
Well ventilated = Yes, horizontal = yes, don't shake it = yes. "nothin will go wrong" = WRONG. What are your other suggestions boomshakalaka88 since your first set of common sense ones were incorrect?
