[QUOTE="4th3ist"]Don't forget 60% of those source players are bots. Sorry Source lovers. :(zero9167

That is so not true.

no, i have to quit half the servers i join in source because of bots. but ive found a way to find out before you join. if your suspicious, right click on the server in steam and click server info. look at the times that the players have been in the server. bots say -1s under time. but um, i just pinged for servers with all 3 filters on and its currently at 565

OR you could actually use the bot filter :| lmao

WHAT?! lol im looking at the servers thing in steam right NOW and i dont see a bot filter

i had a tiger gamecom. it was b&w with touchscreen and the potential for internet access. that was like 96-97 probably. never got the internet though, i dont think it had much purpose anyway.

I quess it takes different kinds of people. Some people just want to try new things with the game, other people need a clear goal. Non linearity has the disadvantage of getting people bored, linearity has the disadvantage of low value (you'll probably only play through the game once).11Marcel

yeah, everyone wants to try new effects like breaking trees in crysis or playing with portals in portal, but you can only play with that so long. its the new fad of video games to make them totally free-roaming, which i support, but i think it will eventually reach a point where its so free that you get bored with it and be its own downfall

yeah theyre good, but what happened to all the puzzles involved in the first 6. even though i always found it annoying pushing boulders around victory road, i was slightly dissapointed to see that instead they just made you run through a long tunnel. and the legends are basicly given to you. as opposed to the optional zapdos, articuno and moltres of the red blue and yellow. and personally i think they completely outdid themselves on gold and silver by making not only johto but also canto availiable. these new ones are good yeah, but nothing will beat the challenges as well as length put into gold and silver

one thing game makers need to keep in mind is why you play video games in the first place. you have the option to do ANYTHING in REAL life, but you get bored and end up playing video games instead. if you make the games too non-linear then one has no choice but to get bored and do something else. thats what happened to me with morrowind. its cool for a while, but most people play video games to be GIVEN a goal. if we wanted to give ourselves a goal then there are much more constructive goals to be given in real life.

anyone agree with me on this?

um well, you ARE able to hear the mechanisms pulling the disk in, and possibly the disk begin to spin, and during loading i hear stuff, but nothing sounds broken.
