basicly, if you know NOTHING about computers, it would be helpful for the company you're buying the computer part from to say, yes, this will help you fit in. (nothing against vista, but people shouldn't buy stuff just cus its new and cool)

i think it has something to do with the fact that 1gb is actually 1024mb. 1024*4= 4096 = technically over 4gb

ive said it before and will say it again. there aren't as many bugs as there are, "incompatibilities." basicly they rebuilt alot of stuff, and this is a good thing! the only problem is most current hardware isn't built to take advantage of it. this is very apparent with their new sound build. im thinkin new sound cards are gonna come out soon because of this, which you will want to wait and see instead of spending alot on a useless xfi or something. you will still get sound, but no super cool effects or anything. double agent doesnt even run any sound, but what bugs does that game NOT have.

Ehh...two DVI ports? The max reso is only 1440*900.
TheLiberal
um, 2 vga, 1 dvi. but yeah it looks like your paying an extra 25 for a boosted contrast ratio and the multiple jacks. it looks like it would be worth it.

Ah, 2 VGA, still, why does it have two?

lol idk i was thinking the same thing. maybe to transfer the same image to another monitor or projector straight from the monitor. that would be handy

ya it would definately be a step up from a 15" 4:3 ratio monitor.

[QUOTE="Axecident"][QUOTE="blazethe1"][QUOTE="TheLiberal"]I have a Samsung SyncMaster 940BW that I picked up from my local Best Buy for about $200 after taxes during a sale last August.
I really love it. Great monitor. It's widescreen. I know I'll never buy a normal aspect (4:3) monitor again.
TheLiberal
thats very true. i was also "iffy" about a widescreen, but i know you'll appreciate me TELLING YOU you will never go back! i hav the 19" chimei widescreen. i think it was like 179 on newegg. 190 or so after shipping.

Is this the chimei your talking about? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824252009

1440x900 is pretty standard for ws lcds. you gotta go over 21" to get much higher, and i find it satisfying anyway

vista is cool....heeheehee, im never going back.

so hav you bought that stuff yet? or are you just planning? if just planning DONT YET! the new dx10 cards come out, new vista stuff will come out, the whole computer market is about to do the wave. i would wait a couple months, or tone down on some of your more high end parts (ie the 8800) until at least summer.

unless you're loaded beyond reason. then by all means!

Building the PC yourself is more satisfying. It's fun, teaches you some stuff, and every time you look at the computer you'll tell yourself/friends "yep, that thing there I built myself" *rubs e-peen*"REX3453
..... anyway, theres a good chance they are charging extra on you for that, and you can't beat the experience of building your own (or the price).
