@Dantat honestly those studios aren't exactly the most "creative" save aside for Projekt RED. GTA 5 looks nice, but I definitely wouldn't call it creative. Same with Last of us. I'd say "impressive", but thats about it.

@sc0ttay2h0ttay @Minishdriveby this "Wii-U version is superior" argument is getting annoying especially since you have nothing to back up that statement besides "oh the game came out on Wii-U first".

Just play the game if you care about it so much. Let Tom have his opinion (which I agree with) and move on.

@19James89 anti-nintendo bias lol. How desperate are you fanboys? No bias was even show in this review whats so ever. The only reason it was scored lower was murphy levels XD. You guys crack me up.

@brainiac1988 or you can just form your own opinion instead of bashing people for their opinions? That too much for you to handle?

are you guys all idiots or something? Jesus Christ this is why I have lost faith in gamers. People are being immature because a game THEY LIKE got a score they didn't expect. Get the game, shut up, and be happy.

You know what? I agree with this review. Why? Because I want a platformer first and foremost. Not a game that is half platformer half touch screen minigame. If any of you nintendo fanboys actually read, you would realize that the murphy levels are why the score was lower. When you are letting the AI play half of the game for you, then you know something is wrong IMO. You like murphy levels? Then good for you! Word of the day is "opinions" people. Look it up.

it always cracks me up when people say nintendo is the only company innovating. Pretty sure with the amount of indie and first party games Sony has had, that argument is irrelevant. Usually nintendo fans that state what I just said above only own nintendo systems. What IS recycled is the amount of 3rd party shooters we get, but you can't really argue against 3rd party considering that those games aren't first party (which is all nintendo has).

@aovannor @JudgeSim couldn't you say that for other franchises that aren't FPS? You are being a bit biased. Recent mario games haven't changed drastically since Galaxy. I don't even need to mention the other Nintendo exclusives as they are all relatively the same game. Its pretty obvious that Nintendo has been using the same formula year after year with a few new gimmicks game after game. The games most certainly not GREATLY VARIED.

@Chaos_Dante_456 @blazin640 makes sense. The question is "how much change is necessary" in order for a game to age well? Too much change and the game is completely different, but too little and we are back to where we are now.

I think you're missing the point Tom. In regards to Duck Tales, why would they change the game just for the sake of creativity? People buy the game because they want the nostalgia, not some new version of people's past. In regards to games that aren't remastered, or HD versions of games, your argument is completely valid. When it applies to games being remastered or HD, there should be little change. People obviously purchase said games because they want to relive there past. Toying around with that idea is not a smart move. Save that idea for new games of the series.
