I missed a lot of shows lately. I was not able to follow Criminal Minds's episode 12 "Profiler Profilded". I miss Reid and his intelligent remarks. Now, I even heard that Patkin will not return for Season 3. I am so sad because I am liking Patkin and his character as well as Hotchner who I always see as Greg, and he had, have proven his versatility as I watch the show more. I am getting use to his no smiling in front of everyone; always showing a stern face but discreetly smiling when no one is looking.
I am falling in love with the story because I began to use everyday their type of profiling to a person. Reading beyond a person can give you an edge so you know when to stop kidding around with that person; easily understand his/her side when he/she feels sad, happy, angry, jocular, etc.
People in my environment are like the people they are profiling. They have different character, thinking and they also have a criminal mind. All people do. Hahaha funny right! I ate my own words because my first review of the first episode I said they did not catch my interest, without Reid the show cannot go on, etc. However, they really proved it wrong. Its just we need to adjust on this show because its not a typical Investigative TV program. Though they have same substance as CSI - they work in team, in buddy system, they have different strengths; they have their secrets thataffects their work in succeeding episodes. We are looking more what is going on inside Human Brain. They read through and beyond the mind of the unsub - body language, movements, past, etc. The program is a more profound way of solving a crime and it is not using forensic tools but minds andgoing beyond our brain's limit.
One of the things I learned no matter how a good profiler or how strong or steady you are, there will be a time that we do not trust anymore even yourself specially when you become the object of the criminal. Thisalso applies to us with normal lives. There is always a limit to our capacity because we are not really that perfect. Like Elle and Reid who experience a life threatening episode that they become so disturbed and their work was greatly affected and even their principles in life. Gideon had a fair share of these experiences as well that why what he said can be applied to real and reel life. We must have someone close to us that we can talk to with our emotions, events - happy or sad, what is/are going in the back of our mind, anything so that we will just not hide away or store our feelingsbecause in time we mightjust burst like a balloon when the trigger is release.
I learned a lot in this TV program. I just really hope they would stay longer in air. It is informative as CSI, Numb3rs, Bones, Medical Investigation, House, etc. Just in different ways and little bit realistic too.
