Yeah... Ellie has a weak bond... She goes to times in a suicide mission to seek revenge, risks and loses everything... Yup... No love whatsoever...Just in case... I'm being sarcastic...
"Then slump down and cry as the ordeal is over but she still has no way to bring back Joel."
Can you imagine her having an epiphany and understanding this was going to happen... Something like a flashback of Joel... That would have being great... Oh, wait...
I still beat you by 3 years... Damn, I´m getting old...
"still have finished thousands of games in my life, I am confident I know what a bad ending is"
If you are comparing ME3 with any other ending or game, trust me, you don´t know what bad ending is... And bro, my advice is not to enter in the ME3 debate, I only hate one game in my entire life, and I can say I´m very prepared for a fight...
"Facts does not matter when talking about tastes."
Tastes are a subjective thing, that's why facts are very important when talking about bad ending or bad writing.
"Be it logical, right, wrong, has no impact on story quality."
Sorry... But I strongly disagree... Logic is very important for me.
"How did they come to this choice? How was it told? Was it entertaining? This is the quality..."
No... that is just "tastes"... And the proof is that there are people who really loves this game.
"Was their huge loop holes leading to it?"
I let this quote on a side note because is the only thing I agree. This is very important for the quality parameters. Good for me this game has none huge loop hole...
"your exemple, which is not a fact but yoy say it is..."
I just told you the main plot of ME3... If you think is up to debate is up to you... I don´t debate facts...
Revenge is a kind of wild justice. The more your focus is on revenge, the less you will be promoting justice...
"And yes Aby followed the same cycle. Only this is not the character I am attached to."
Well, you said it yourself, you are not promoting justice, just wild revenge.
You are the representation of what this game is against... No wonder you didn't like it... LOL
"Perspective is everything. And this is proof of the lack of vision of the devs."
I´m sorry but no... not lack of vision of the devs. Your lack of vision. Using your analogy, in this game you have both perspectives, the lion and the gazelles. You just choose to ignore one side of the coin...
So... your choice all alone, the devs have nothing to do with it...
"The perspective is set, they tried whatever they wanted thinking they could do it, and they failed."
Sorry... It is not "they failed"... It is "they failed me", and obviously some other people. It worked very well to a lot of people who really loves this game...
I will not debate this point any longer. Like I told you before, narrative choices and tastes can be discussed, but, objective actions? It´s a waste of time.
@bdrtfm: "There is not way you can 100% know that."
Look... I love to debate, I love the argumentation part in which we defend our point of view. I disagree, i disagree and both try to show our view as the positive one.
But if you are telling me that in that scene Owen could be defending Mel... there is nothing more to debate. Not because I disagree, as said before when I disagree i like to do the fight, but how can I debate something so obvious?
I´m not going to say to you that Ellie and Abby are women if somehow you decide to tell me that both of them are men... The debate can only go to a certain level of logic.
So I'll say this one more time and that´s it: Owen was trying to protect Abby, he didn´t want Mel to tell Ellie her location. His reaction is when Mel was going to tell Abby the place Abby was and then everything goes to hell. If you really have any doubts about Owen reaction then we truly can´t have a debate...
@bdrtfm: "And please tell me how YOUR interpretation of the game is the correct one because I'm pretty sure everyone who plays the game will have their own interpretation of the story."
No... no... I have an interpretation of the ending... What we were talking about was actual things that happened. Owen was defending Abby, not Mel. See a video of that scene again and then come back. It´s not open to interpretation.
"And the story is not on any level that would require skillful deduction to figure it out."
I agree... And that's what's more amazing about some people missing easy points of interpretation...
