I think the reason the you don't consider there was as much, is the internet wasn't such main stream and message boards wasn't full of fanboys so all the arguing had to be done locally. Not to mention games have became much more mainstream so you have more people getting into them. Look at politics more people that think they know what they are talking about.. more arguements. Its not microsoft that is causing the fighting, its everyone that wants to have their opinion heard about why they spent X amount of dollars on X console. Look at people and cars and trucks. FORD. no Chevy.. no dodge.
Speaking of cars you never hear that kind of talk from someone that owns like 350z, toyota, or a german type car saying my car is better than yours. As a matter of fact its mostly people that own the American cars doing that and American car makers don't have as good of a reputation. People that don't own the American cars already know they have the better and more dependable ride, its a fact.
you've never heard someone make fun of someone for driving a bmw or mercedes instead of a jag or vice versa.. its all cars... you generalize to much. If there is more than one of something.. people are going to disagree. Its human nature. Like we are doing right now.. I disagree with you, you disagree with me.
Bmw and mercedes are both good quality cars there isn't much to argue about. As for jags everyone knows those are not too good of cars when it comes to reliability. I mainly hear from people that own the American cars and that say buy American. Well to hell with buying American, I'm going to buy what is the best quality which is why the other countries that make cars have gained an advantage over the American cars. I don't think I will ever buy an American car and if I do it won't be for a long long time.
the issue is your not realizing your opinions does not equal = what everyone else thinks. Just because you think mercedes and bmw are both good quality cars others will feel that way. I had a 1996 190E mercedes and it was a POS.. I'll never get another one because of it.. etc..etc..
Its not just me that agrees its majority of the world thats why BMW and Mercedes are able to charge around double or triple the price you would pay for Ford or Chevy. BMW and Mercedes wouldn't be able to charge those prices if people wouldn't be willing to pay more for those cars. As for your car maybe it was just bad luck but I think most people you will come across will tell you that they have had more problems with an American car than with a BMW or a Mercedes.
but in other countries BMWs and Mercedes are cheaper than american made cars. Its not the cars that make them more $$ its the importing of them. Not to mention the majority of people think the PS3 sucks right now... does that mean it does?
