[QUOTE="Fightingfan"]No, I didn't donate for haiti I won't donate for Japan.Bubble_Man
You actually have a bit of a point. I imagine that more people are making donations for Japanese victims of natural disaster becausethere are a lot of gamers and anime fans. I didn't hear much -- if anything at all -- about donations to help the people in Christchurch, New Zealand when they suffered devastating earthquake losses. It's a good thing to donate to Japan, of course, but the before mentioned observation popped into my head.
Very true. I donated a bit to Japan but it's really the first time I've ever donated to a country's relief efforts. Usually when a disaster hits a country I think something like "wow that sucks", but move on pretty quick. With Japan I felt terrible about it and was much more concerned. I didn't really connect this directly to gaming or anything like that, and I wasn't thinking like "oh that sucks because I like videogames", but it was more like I cared in the first place because I like Japan a lot in general, though those reasons ultimately stem back to gaming, anime, general culture etc. I'm seeing much more publicity on gaming and technology sites about this crisis than I've ever seen about other recent distasters. It's great that many gamers and tech nerds and such can empathize with this but it's something to think about.
