Yep - the Wii is in a similar situation as the DS. Graphics are under par, it lacks multimedia features, and it's viewed as a gimmick. But, then again, you can't exactly compare the handheld market to the console market.
Show me PS3 space simulator games that are better than Star Trek: Legacy, Project Sylpheed, Wing Commander 360, or Battlestar Galactica. Oh wait, there aren't any PS3 games in that genre.
Misconception 1: The PS3 has no good games! - Not really. The PS3 has a great line up of games, such as FFXIII, Resistance, Lair, Motorstorm, GT:HD, Heavenly Sword, FFXIII Versus, DMC4, MGS4, and others. Sure, some aren't slated to come out for a while, but that doesn't mean that they PS3 doesn't have any good games at all. You could perhaps say that the PS3 doesn't have any good games NOW, but that won't hold true forever.
Misconception 2:The 360 has no good games! - Wrong. There are MANY AA games for the 360 out, along with about 5 AAA games. Examples: Gears of War, Oblivion, PGR3, Viva Pinata, Kameo, GRAW, Dead Rising, etc.
Misconception 3: 360 graphics > PS3 graphics! (Or vice-versa) - At this point, no one can really tell who will have better looking games down the line. Sure, multiplats look better on the 360 at this point. That's most likely due to the fact that developers have had more experience with 360 hardware, and the PS3 is getting the ported version of the game. However, there is one thing that you can be certain of: there WILL be some PS3 games that entirely outclass 360 games, there there WILL be some 360 games that blow a lot of PS3 games out of the water.
