**** macs get windows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!That's how I normally am ;) But I need a Mac in this case. While I will be using OSX for the majority of the time, I'm definitely going to load up Vista :P
cloud8900
iMac - Radeon X1600 (128mb), 7300GT (128mb), 7600GT (256mb)
MacBook - (Integrated) (Not an option)
MacBook Pro - Mobility Radeon X1600
According to the Graphics Card Guide I was using, all of the cards in the iMac were listed under the High Preformance catagory, albiet near the bottom. What the guide didn't say, however, is how much memory those cards had. Is the 128mb of memory on these cards going to hold me back? There is the option of the 7600, but I don't want to have to spring for that if I don't have to.
For the MacBook Pro, is the Mobility Radeon basically the same as a standard Radeon? Apple.com says that it's got "upto 256mb of memory." What exactly does that mean? It doesn't come with 256 standard, and it's sharing some system memory?
I know that I can build a PC that's far better for far cheaper, but I'm going to be needing a Mac for my purposes.
Are these cards decent by any rate? I don't expect to be playing Crysis or anything, but I'd like some other games (possibly Supreme Commander?) and older games to run nicely. I'm going to mainly be playing City of Heroes which should be a breeze for these systems, considering it runs decently on my current rig (P4D @ 2.8 Ghz, 1 GB RAM, Radeon 9250).
These cards are going to be coupled with C2D's (either 1.83 or 2.0 Ghz) and likely 1 GB of RAM if that changes anything.
[QUOTE="mestizoman"]WHat is this game again? Oblivion.from Gspot-
"The real enhancement is in the visuals and, to some extent, the loading times. The game seemed to have a slightly smoother and more consistent frame rate than it did on the Xbox, though the difference wasn't enormous, and it seemed to us that the textures looked just a tad sharper..."
also, only pictures of the game in 1080i/p count, because a 480i picture or less will show a boat load of jaggies, as seen in Gspot's pics

[QUOTE="-Spock-"]Yea because everyone is buying ps3s just for this game. Because we will never use the blu-ray player, or lay ANY OTHER GAME. Unlike the 360, Oblivion isnt the only game worth playing on the PS3. Weird....I have 43 games for my 360. 7 for my PS3. 360 has way better games, no matter what your fanboy side says. At the time of oblivions launch you were playing alot of good games? Weird...[QUOTE="coolguy1111"][QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"][QUOTE="coolguy1111"][QUOTE="Omni-Slash"]woot?...next time how about just sending me the $200 dollars.........coolguy1111
The 360 launch was the best in years. There were plenty of games that deserved to be played a few months within the launch:
- Project Gotham Racing 3
- Perfect Dark Zero
- Kameo: Elements of Power
- Dead or Alive 4
- Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter
- Condemned
- Call of Duty 2
Is it just me or are the 360 graphis weird, dont get me wrong there amazing but on almost every sports game there is a glow around the players and there all really shiny. Anyone know what im sain?nintendomaruigiIt's the developer's solution to everything this gen - just throw tons of lighting around. Ugly textures? No problem! Throw in some lighting! Low draw distance? No problem, just throw in some lighting! Terrible models? Nothing a ton of lighting couldn't fix!
You? Looking forward to this. No way. I don't believe you. Hope this turns out to be good. BSG is awesome and it deserves an awesome game. Caught you by surprise, didn't I? ;) Rumor has it that the XBLA game is a precursor to the full out MMORPG.[QUOTE="blurb1324"][QUOTE="Hoffgod"][QUOTE="blurb1324"]Can't wait :Dbooks83
Well in another article I read on this the company said that they have had proposals for another console game.
"We love 'Battlestar Galactica' and we've had proposals to do another 'Battlestar Galactica' console game, but we haven't moved forward just yet," Kisbert said. "We feel that the show is so rich in mythology and politics and drama and story that when we do it, we'll take a full two to three years to do it right on next-generation consoles."

Hmm... I haven't seen that report before. Do you know if it's relating to the MMO, or an entirely different game?[QUOTE="blurb1324"]Can't wait :DHoffgodYou? Looking forward to this. No way. PS3 version will be better. It will use the cell. PS3___GoDToo bad the Cell won't help it look any better than the current versions, or give it an extra RAM boost in order to hold all of the extra DLC in memory.
