It sure seems like it. I just had an 80gb, 2 usb system kick the bucket a week ago. What's with all these threads lately with people's consoles dying? And all the same kind too? What the hell is going on? Did Sony hit a master kill switch back at Sony's HQ to slim models so they can sell the new slim SKU? :o

Think about it... the original models (like the original xboxes) were faulty and doomed to die. Then, they gave me a refurb (under warranty). Used systems aren't safe. It's not exactly rocket science.I agree with the above comment.
Unless you can get an xbox slim with a HDD for cheap and then get Halo 4 and some other games like the Mass Effect trilogy would be a good idea.
Also how the hell did you kill two PS3's? Did you cover it in a wool blanket while you were playing? Or is your home just super dusty and its causing the laser to get all dirty and stop working.

Last week she was the 2nd to perish in a 3 year span (the first one under warranty). Doctors did all they could do (for a week) to revive her. Cause of death: failure of blu-ray drive. She was survived by 27 games and a silver controller.
As we all gather to mourn this loss, I ask but one thing....
Is it worth getting a 360? And by that, I was wondering if anyone has heard any news or rumors from reputable sources that suggests that the next-box will be here next year? I was thinking of getting Forza, Gears, Madden and probably Halo 4. I have $242 of gamestop credit.

actually, i'm a "free agent". calling people names ("cows", wtf is this internet nerd lingo?) is a butthurt way of letting someone know that they got under your skinI seriously don't get cows obession over the 360.The console destroys the PS3 in multiple ways like in the arcade game department

Arcade minis aside, when's the last time they attempted anything other than Halo, Forza or Gears?
The Vita was actually aborted
not me. my brand new, glossy 80 gig had a red screen of death after not even owning it for a year. i had a warranty though, and it has been perfectly fine for nearly two years now. enjoy the gloss, dude. :)
i'd buy it if i were you. the people saying it was a let down are comparing it to uncharted two; let's be honest, how many games out there are better than uncharted 2. i don't have it (backlog), but the multiplayer was better than u2's. u2 multiplayer was a mess to me. it was just grenade spamming or power weapon whoring. u3 seems to be balanced and more gun on gun fun.
