americans don't like soccer because they didn't grow up playing it like baseball, football, or basketball. i hate baseball because its slow, boring, and a bunch of fat guys on steroids hitting a ball with a stick and attempting to run. soccer is the most exciting sport if you actually see it at its highest levels. once you appreciate all the tactics thats going on in the game you can watch it even if the teams aren't the greatest( i follow the mexican first division more than any other league in the world).

you don't need to jump like lebron to be good at football. some of the best players had average speed/ athletic ability. they make up for it in intelligence though. ex: my favorite player Cuachtemoc Blanco from mexico. hes old, slow, slightly overweight now (even younger he wasn't too fast) but he makes up for it in technique and vision as well as mental toughness. thats why i respect guys like kobe, steve nash, deron williams, michael jordan(late career), they may not have physical tools anymore, but they make up for it in everything else. Lionel Messi the best footballer in the world right now is about 5'6 no more than 160. thats the good thing about football, you don't have to be built like hercules to play.
