The compass always heads home

July 22nd 2007

Yes, love totally binds the world together. And we do not need to go too far to find a good example of it, do we? Tv.com and the bunch of amazing friends we've all made here stand for it. I can proudly say that I have friends all around the world, east, west, north and south the globe :)

Living in Europe, I'm used to see the representation of the world in a world map having Europe in the middle, America on the left and Asia on the right. I heard once that people have different representations of the world maps depending on the continent they live in, i.e., people from America place America in the middle, Europe on the right and Asia on the left, and people from Asia place Asia in the middle, Europe on the left and America on the right.

So, whatever world map representation you have, wherever you may find any of your friends, we all have a common ground here, where the compass always heads to, heading home :)

Well, I was a quiet child, too quiet to be true. My parents could totally forget about me because I was able to entertain myself quietly for hours. I bet that they needed some kind of compensation after having such an earthquake in person in my older brother. Incredibly restless and talented to get in trouble.

See? I never broke anything or caused any trouble so my parents didn't needany kind ofchild insurance. Boring, huh?Now thatI think about it, I wasn't that quiet, but somehowI always was sensible enough or lucky enough not to get in trouble:wink:

Me and my friends discovered this old cinema which was in ruins. The entrance was secured but we found some access through a hole in a side wall. It was tiny, but we were kids and pretty elastic so we managed to get in, all scratched by happy. I remember watching carefully to the balconies around, and pretending some kind of a game until no one was around and we could get in. Sometimes it could take us really long, but it was fun once we were inside, because it was full of cobwebs but intact, so we acted our own plays on stage and have our little imaginary world there. Until one day, we discovered that our entrance hole had been blocked off. I guess that someone watched us getting in or something. It was fun while it lasted though. Here it is one of the entrance tickets we gathered there and that I still keep with me as a nice memory. It is dated somewhere in August 1972.

How about you guys, were you restless kids? Were you prone to get in trouble?

I'm always late but never to a good party

July 21st 2007

Hmmm, it's true. No matter how bad things may be, a simple caress and a smile from the one you love can help feel a lot better. Problems still remain there, but for a brief moment they look a bit smaller. Having the security of that bit of heaven is much appreciated and helps loads. That should be taken for granted, right? The one who loves you is meant to support you and help you out through all it. Only problem being when the things that go wrong belong to 7th heaven. Ah, the irony :|

We all need to escape once in a while. We all have disturbing issues around. So the most important thing is to have a means of escape. It's good to rely on a friend, a relative, a lover, a sibling... but people are moody, and variable like the wind. Make sure you all have something (apart from someone) to cling to. I hope you'll never have to make use of it and that there would always be someone around. But still

Oh, I just loved this strip. I feel totally identified with Hobbes here. I've never been big on watching tv (yeah, sacrilege words on tv.com, huh?) or on listening to the radio for that matter. As most of you already know, I have never watched all those movies everyone has, or I never have a clue about which most of the bands on fashion are :?

I check the tv guide, and I only watch what interests me or what I think could interests me. I never put the tv on and start flipping channels just because of it, so when I'm at someone's house and the tv is on and people keep watching whatever, I really got pissed. I need something in my hands, some pastime, a newspaper, a magazine, a pen and paper, anything.

¿Music? Pretty much the same. I never ever turn the radio on. I put a cd or a tape (I love my old little bit of everything tapes) so I never know nothing about the music hitting at present. I go in a bar and I'm amazed at everyone bouncing and singing the songs that I listen to for the best time. And it's a while ago since I last asked "Who sings this?" because I was always funnily looked at :D

For example, the other day, when I was watching "Devil wears Prada" I listened this bit of a song that I liked, so I made a little research for it. I bet that most of you would know what song it was only by listening to that bit of it, but I didn't. Ahahahaha, you want to know what song it was, right? It was "Crazy" by Alanis Morissette. I love the song. First time I listened to was the other day, believe it or not. And the video, omg how cool is it? Yep, I'm always super late on big hits

On the personal note, yesterday we weren't rained on while the open air movie screening, so it was all good. "Monster House" was on and it was alright. It is an animation movie and there were loads of kids around, but luckily enough they behaved pretty well. I like animation movies, above all Disney ones, and this one was pretty hooking from the very beginning, so I enjoyed it much. And there was this little (4 or 5 year old I guess) boy, who was totally scared. He was clinging to his mum's arm, and he was the cutest thing ever. The poor boy kept repeating that he was scared, but he couldn't keep his eyes away from the screen. He made me smile throughout the whole movie. Maybe I'm silly, but those little things, like the total sweetness that boy and his mum were, made me as happy as enjoying an open air movie :)

And today I received this picture of a friend of mine who is pregnant, and she sent me by mail the baby's scans, and then a pic of her womb to my cell, and she made my day too. I'm so excited about these threee babies that are going to be born this year: Princess Jermajisty (aka Toni's girl), and two boys from two other friends of mine. I love having "nephews and nieces". They are just adorable.

By the way, Jenn's (virtual for me) party was a total blast. I didn't know the music but hey, at least we put the snails' extract to good use, didn't we Jenn? Man are we improving our language skills. LMFAO

If I only I'd own the weather

July 20th 2007

Physical ownership between people reminds me of slavery, which I strongly despise. However, I kinda understand that, in a proper romantic context, emotional ownership can be pretty sweet. Cheesy as it sounds, bf uses to tell that he owns everything in me but this beauty spot behind my left ear  However he blatantly claims this one between my boobs  not to mention, well, you know, some other ones

Calvin and Hobbes are propriety of Bill Watterson and Universal Press Syndicate.

On the personal note, I can't tell you if I liked "Little Miss Sunshine" because 20 minutes after the movie started it rained. Pouring rain. Gah. The screening was suspended (it is open air movies, go figure) and we went back home, to play some cards. I was pretty pissed off let me tell you because I was liking the story that far :(

For those who have already watched it, we were exactly at this point where the mum convinces her weird dumb son to join the family in the road trip. They shake hands and that's as far as we got. Great huh? Anyway, it's not such a big deal, I'll download it and that's all but it really sucks to be left like that

Today is the last movie of this week (yes, they have screenings on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and none in the weekends, how weird is that?) and it's gonna be "Monsters House". Looks like a nice movie, let's see. And if the weather allows me watch it, I'll tell you all:)

And I had this exhausting day at work. The accountant came and man, do I hate numbers. Lists and lists full of numbers to deal with. They make no frigging sense to me. I just raise an eyebrow at them, as if magically trying to extract any sense out of all that mess. Inspiration never comes though, so I really gotta do my best to try and not doze off at the same time that I pretend that I'm understanding one single thing he is saying. But hey, I miraculously survived :D

Bf has 3 days off starting from today, so I won't be around in the afternoon because I really need a nap now.The weather is kinda nice so far, let's hope it lasts. I dunno what we will do before the movies, so you guys have fun whatever you choose to do. Have a nice day and take care. I'll see you all tomorrow :)

Ooh, and tonight is Jenn's party. It'll be a blast :D

Blind dates, tactics, sunshine and a Polaroid too

July 19th 2007

I've never gone in a blind date, and I would never will. Sounds like the most embarrassing thing ever to me. I'm terrible at many things, but flirting is no doubt one of those. I wouldn't know what to say, I feel thoroughly uncomfortable when I am forced to maintain a conversation with someone I do not know. Words just don't come to my mouth. I totally prefer the silence, but that sorts of defeats the purpose of a date, right?

It's kinda funny actually because when I'm alone I talk aloud with myself, with my cat, with the computer or whatever. I just talk. However, when I'm with people I always prefer listening. Everybody tells me that I am a great listener, and most of the people around reveal me their secrets. Not big things, but you know. They know I'll conceal them. I'm just too lazy to establish a conversation and reveal

And yes, I got a bf. And yeah, it surprises me too. It was my friend Mari who flirted with him for me in the disco. LMAO. I know it sounds weird and absolutely patheticbut it's true. They were chit-chatting and I was there standing like a traffic light. I just couldn't come up with anything intelligent to say. Now that I think about it it's funny, but they just rolled their eyes. And then, once we first danced together, I started doing things by myself, just in case anyone was wondering

How about you guys? Ever gone in a blind date? Ever will? :)

Calvin and Hobbes are propriety of Bill Watterson and Universal Press Syndicate.

Calvin is amazing. I had never thought about doing such a thing. It's a very intelligent tactic indeed. I may actually use it, one never knows when it can come in handy :D

On the personal note, I loved "Devil Wears Prada". I'm still not friends with Meryl since the Robert Redford affair  , but I reckon that she does a great job in the movie. And so does Anne Hathaway. By the way, can she be any more beautiful? God, check this out:

I kept on giggling and thinking about Toni and Jenn. All those shoes, bags, clothes, complements... It was just recently that Toni and I were chatting about Manolo Blahnik shoes, and there they were. I thought about Blu as well. All those NY scenes brought her to my mind too :) That was a bonus to the movie.

So despite not being a fashion lover, I loved the movie. The subplot was moving, and I cried like a baby at the very end. I know, I know, I'm a helpless weepy girl. Bf was rolling his eyes and holding me a Kleenex  I always love those movies that make me cry.

And today we are gonna watch "Little Miss. Sunshine". I've heard good things and read good critics about it. Is it any good? I'll tell ya'll tomorrow. So yesterday I ate the yummy crab, and decided to take a picture of its claws so you can imagine its size:

That's pretty much it from now. See you all guys tomorrow before my party. Didn't I tell you? Jenn, my goddaughter, invited meto this party at her place (well, at herabsent parents' place) I'm thrilled to be between the exclusive eliteof canadian flashy bimbos to attend the event. I'm sure it will be a blast, so I'll goiron my bimbo outfit and my nightie too. One never knows ifI would spend the night in the escargot tent  Until then, be good and take care :)

P.S. Jenn, I want to know the *ahem* colour in your comment. Don't make me use my Polaroid again. Thanks

Rhombuses, crabs and Robert Redford

July 18th 2007

Calvin and Hobbes is propriety of Bill Watterson and Universal Press Syndicate.

Seems like Calvin is learning is learning a lot, isn't he? Looks like something out of "We Stalk Flack thread" or Mada thread LMAO

Hmmm, I never came across anything I shouldn't watch when I was a kid. I loved to sleep too much as to watch any tv not being cartoons time and then Enyd Blyton's "The 5". I kinda remember the Brady Bunch too, but I think I only liked the very beginning of it during the credits, when all the family members looked up and down and sidewards as if watching each other. I think that the only "improper" thing I can recall now is "The Benny Hill Show"

Being a sleepyhead, I was happily in bed by 20'00 pm or something. My mum was a lucky woman, my nephews throw the worse tantrums not to go to bed. I remember though that some series, shows and movies were rated with a rhombus (do you remember that Jordina?) meaning that they weren't meant for all public and then there were others that were rated with 2 rhombuses, meaning adult stuff only. It is weird that I remember the rombuses though. Nowadays the rhombuses rating thingy is long gone, but believe me, Spanish tv would have a dozen of them in the 90% of the shows: boobs all the way, free porno movies and so on. Jesus, are we libertines in here

What about you? Did you caught anything you shouldn't on tv?

On the personal note, I was feeling super tired today. I think I was sleepy as per usual, so I took this little nap from 15'00pm to 20'00 pm  And I woke up as tired as I was. Gah. I think I need holidays. I also read this one blog whose theme I'm really sensitive to and left this long comment I was meaning to delete because I know I was being a bit too honest but I finally didn't. Don't know why but I kinda feel funny about it. I truly hope I haven't offended anyone. I don't think I'm that mean as I sounded but whatever. It's bugging me that I could make someone I love angry :( *crosses fingers*

Hmmm, my dad just came to bite me with a crab's leg. He is crazy like that. I don't really know what you call this kind of crab. It's like the hugest of crabs. It is called "txangurro" in basque, and this is what it looks like:

I love it, hummmm yummy :)

As I was typing this, bf just called. He is working the afternoon shift (hence my long nap) and he asked me to marry him again, ahahahahaha kidding, he asked me to go out to the open air movies tonight. YAY!!!!! I knew there was a film tonight, but I thought he would be too tired to go. "Devil wears Prada" is gonna be on. Is it any good? *shrugs* I'll tell y'all tomorrow. I don't like Meryl Streep and for a totally lame reason: she starred "Out of Africa" with Robert Redford. Gah, I totally love that movie. I totally love Robert Redford in that movie (if only he wouldn't be a hunter but hey, life ain't perfect. We all sadly know that so far, don't we?). Anyway, how hot is he in that movie? Hot, hot, hot. When he washes her hair? When he tells those stories? When they dance in the porch? When the fly? Gah. Hot, hot, hot

Ok, so off to cool off and to my crab and my movie. Take care and be good :D

Giants, bigheads and OLE

July 17th 2007

I only wish I could cut loose more often. I love it here though as my own personal escape from real life issues :)

Calvin and Hobbes is propriety of Bill Watterson and Universal Press Syndicate.

Calvin playing Spaceman Spiff totally rocks. As any little kid, he hardly gets any concentrated atc-lass much to Mrs. Wormwoood and The school Principal. He has created his own delusional world to cope with daily routine and boredom. Who can blame him, huh? We wish we could do just do the same

On the personal note, yesterday I went for a walk to the local fiestas. Man, it was crowded. I could hardly walk some 30 steps without meeting someone. And my idyllic afternoon on my own became a walk around with a bunch of friends from canoeing team, from the neighbourhood, from my block, from here and there. So I couldn't take as many pictures as I wanted, oh well :)

So yesterday was the day of the Carmen Virgin, who is the Patron Saint of the fishermen. I live in fishermen village where every family has a tragedy involving someone lost in the sea. So the Carmen Virgin's Day is huge in here. People decorate their balconies with flowers and the Virgin is taken in a drummers Parade towards the docks, where she is shipped aboard a boat and sails the bay together with the drummers. It is really nice, because the sound of the drums are heard really aloud when they are shipping the bay. Bunches of flowers are thrown to the water to remember those all dead fishermen while people pray for their souls.

The quality of the pics is not good, I'm sorry. It was really sunny so I couldn't take many pictures against the sun. And, since I'm not a religious person, I kinda backed off respectfully for all those people who were praying and stuff to be closer to the Virgin.

This is the Carmen Virgin, Patron Saint of the fishermen.

The procession, the Virgin always surrounded by people dressed as old fishermen did.

A bunch of flowers, floating in the water.

The drummers parade.

Me, when kid, as a drummer. Yeah, smiley me :D

The giants and the bigheads, this is my favourite thingy of the festivals. The giants are...well, giants. They are huge cardboard figures, they usually go in pairs and they have a wooden structure inside where those who dance them are placed. They dance to the rhythm of music, and by the end of the song, they start spinning around. The more skilful the dancer is, the longer they spin, and the loudest claps and roars they get. Sometimes they need to be assisted not to fall to the floor. Experienced people take turns to dance them and the ones assist the others carrying along water bottles and stuff like that. I just love the giants and the music they dance too. The giants of my village are being repaired (the cardboard is pretty fragile) so they brought some from villages nearby. The ones of my village are, of course, a fisherman, a fisherwoman, and then another pair dressed in the typical basque costume.

Some giants

And together with the giants go the bigheads. The bigheads are...well, bigheads. They are huge ugly cardboard heads which are worn to scare people. They carry a broom or any other utensil for hitting purposes. So they run after people and hit. They just hit anyone, so you better get out of their way. The safest place to hide is near the giants, which makes the giants' dance even more difficult. Small kids are usually scared of them. When I was a kid, I was totally terrified. Still, it makes me giggle to watch at all those kiddos crying at them. So, I took some pics for you too and, by the way,I got hit, so you know :P

Some bigheads

Some heads

And, I was struck and pissed off to discover these stupid cardboard bulls who run together with the bigheads *insert huge sigh in here*

Finally, between the tons of people selling just everything, I also found these battery operated bulls. SPAIN AND OLE *insert super huge sigh in here*

Time, scars, beermats and facials

Thinking of him round the clock, that's pretty much being in love. Like when you have a crush on someone, and you wonder why didn't he show up in the disco, in the bus, at c-lass or wherever you usually meet together.

Then when you start dating someone, and you only want to be with that person. Why didn't he call yet? Why is he taking so long to ask me out? Is it weekend yet?

And finally, when you are in a relationship, you just know where he is all the time: working, having a beer with friends, playing sports...whatever. First and last thing in your mind everyday. Gah, such is love :)

Calvin and Hobbes are propriety of Bill Watterson and Universal Press Syndicate.

Pretty much like me, actually. At school, we used to play to jump out of the swing, and we made a little mark with chalk and put our name on it, so the one who landed the furthest won. We actually didn't win anything, but the pride of being the most tomboy between the tomboys, I guess. So we a took a great impulse and jump. It worked for most of the times, but when it didn't, it was a great display of chaos, blood and tears.

So I jumped too early or too late, and landed in the trajectory of the swing, so I didn't have the chance to stand up before the swing came back and hit me in the head. It was an iron swing, with the shape of chair, heavy as hell. So it hit me really hard, so hard that my head was numb. What did I do? Join the line to give it another try :)

It wasn't until the break keeper came running and waving at me with a panic face that I realized that something was wrong. Appart from our uniform, which was navy blue, we had to wear this school dressing coat for the uniform not to get dirty, I guess. So she took my dressing coat off, and I noticed the huge blood stain at its back. She pressed it towards my head and from that point onwards, the obvious. Ambulance, hospital, stitches. I didn't cry because it didn't hurt at all, but I was pretty scared at the sight of my own blood :?

Now I have a big scar in my head, not noticeable because of the hair. It itches like hell when the weather changes, but apart from that, I feel like it has been there forever. I was 6 years old at the time, go figure. But you know what pissed me the most? That the doctor had to cut this big lock of hair to give me the stitches. I cried like mad. My hairdo all ruined

Any scar in your lives, guys?

In the personal note, today is much cooler than yesterday, some 30C aka 86F, so I will go to the fiestas in a while to take some pics for you. Yesterday I was chatting with Toni (2 days in a row, whoa huh?) and she found this funny, so I'll share with you. My mum recently bought this doormat with the shape of a cat. My neighbours upstairs have a 3 year old boy who fell in love with it. He named it MICHI (which is some of those weird slang words we use with kids, this one to refer to a cat) and he always takes it for a walk, much to his parents distress. If he is not allowed to, he throws such tantrums, that he always has his way. So there he goes, doormat in his hands, walking around until their parents take the car out of the garage. Toni thought that it was funny. I promised her to get a picture of it. If it is not, you know who to blame

This is the doormat, aka Michi

And then I chatted to Jenn (Welcome back dearest, you were much missed) and aflter singing together our favourite song "Oceans apart, day after day, and I slowly go insane..." LMAO, we ended up talking about facials  so I just remembered that the other day I got this simple of snail's extract. It is supposed to be really good for skin, leaving it smooth and stuff, apart from having healing powers for little cuts, bruises and so. She never heard of it and found it totally gross and weird, so I promised her to get her a picture of it. It's pretty expensive, gotta tell you. Still haven't tried it on. If it is gross, I'll blame Jenn. I think we'd both stick to our usual facials, nothing like natural extracts LMFAO

The infamous snail's extract sample.

Alright, off I go to the fiestas!!! :D

Male chauvinism is not hot

Staying by one's bed is totally a sign of love. I truly admire those doctors, nurses and sanitaries in general that make ill people's life easier. I always faint when I enter a hospital. The odour, the atmosphere...everything makes me instantly sick. I have low blood pressure and don't need really much to fall to the floor, but just bring me to a hospital and I will faint within the first ten minutes :?

I hate it, but I also know that sick people who are bored in hospital do truly appreciate being paid some visits. So I take a deep breath and do my best to keep my vertical. Luckily enough, most of my visits have been to newborn children. Cross my fingers :)

Calvin and Hobbes are propriety of Hill Watterson and Universal Press Syndicate.

I totally applaud Susie's words, she totally disappointed Calvin with her attitude. Hopefully (I totally wouldn't stand it) I have never felt discriminated out of sex. I have always been able to join any kind of group activity I've liked like doing. There was just this one time that I had this issue, but I kinda solved it out my way

So I have practiced canoeing ever since I was a very small child. The city council was given some old canoes that other sporting clubs were gonna get rid of, so the word was spread and me, together with another bunch of boys and girls, started what would become a prosperous Canoeing Club. At the very beginning, we had no showers, no proper facilities, nothing. Just and old truck trailer where we stored the canoes and changed ourselves.

Well, long story short, the canoes were repaired and we started winning competitions, getting new canoes and sport stuff and the city council provided with new facilities. During summer, we gave some short courses to children who were into a program of problematic kids coming out of disrupted families. The kids loved it and so did we. So I used to give 2 short courses, one in the morning, the other one in the early afternoon. 10 to 15 kids each course two instructors each course. We used to take the zodiac out to pick those kids who fell to the water while the canoe was put upside down again and emptied. One of the monitors used the zodiac, the other one a canoe, and we used to change roles because after both short courses we still had to train ourselves, so the one who used the zodiac in the morning took the canoe in the afternoon and viceversa. So far so good :)

So I was getting ready to get in the zodiac this afternoon when my uncle showed up. He was taking a walk and was astonished at the fact that being one male instructor and a female one, it was me who was gonna use the zodiac. So he started shouting at me out of the blue and saying that he wouldn't allow me use the zodiac just because I was a girl and bla, bla. My partner came complain and told him to shut off because how we decided to give our courses was none of his business. I tried to keep cool, because it was my uncle and I usually lose my temper from second one, but he totally got on my nerves, so I told him a beautiful prose full of curses and basically to shut the f*ck up and to f*ck off  So he put his hand up in the air to hit me. I was wishing he would, because my knee would have hit his balls the next second. But he didn't. I was disappointed, but since I wasn't in the mood to listen to his male chauvinism speech, I threw him to the water. LMAO

Well, needless to say that my dad almost hits him when he knew what happened, especially that he almost hit me. And they are brothers. My aunt and my cousin phoned to apologize and things got kinda worked out, but my dad forgave but didn't forgot evil:

Needless to say, that I didn't forgive not forget, and that I still give him a despising look each time I meet him. I have a wonderful relationship with my aunt and my cousin though. Yes, I am a resentful b*tch. But only because I don't have an ugly appendix between my legs, it doesn't mean that I'm second to none. But of course!

This is one of the few pictures I have canoeing (I'm the one in the green canoe). I have loads of videos and press cuttings and stuff, but not really pics. I hated being taken pics, that's why. However my friends so have some. I'll try and get some other for you

On the personal note, I am totally melting in here. Yesterday was super hot, but today it is even hotter. I finally managed to chat with Toni yesterday, it was just too long since we last chatted and it was just great. So I was chatting to her and at the same time I was fanning myself. I had my window open and all of a sudden it started to smell like roasted sardines. Yeah, it is something really usual in here, to give people food for free during the local fiestas. And being a fishermen village, sardines it is. So I had to close my window and I though I was going to faint :?

Today it is 44C here, which according to my cell conversor is 111.2F. Yeah, my cell is probably right, too hot. Well, I'm almost naked which always helps a bit, but Kika (my cat) and Hotz (my samoyedo dog) can't get rid of their fur, especially Hotz, and I truly pity them. I keep spraying them with cold water (which both hate) and I replace their water each half an hour. Still they are too tired to play, or in Hotz's case, to go out for a walk. They just lie here and there, shifting their position each minutes. The poor guys :(

That's why I didn't go out to the fiestas today, because even though I stayed up late yesterday night, I didn't sleep in (too much) this morning. But as soon as I opened an eye and felt the heat, I totally knew I wasn't going to move from home in the whole day. Bf is working the afternoon shift, and there is no open air movies tonight, so it is laziness day for me. I'll try and take some pics tomorrow, if it gets any cooler

Being gross to nature

Saving the future for them. It is totally unfair how we are using and abusing nature. We don't care using up all the natural resources in our hands and destroying whatever ecosystems it takes to seek for our own good

When I was a child, we had this subject at school which was called "Nature". It was one of my favourites, we learned about the world, the cultures, the animals, the plants... Now my nephews have the same subject, only that they learn about some species that have become extinct, how to preserve and protect those at risk and how to help maintaining those left.

How sad is it? :(

Calvin and Hobbes is propriety of Bill Watterson and Universal Press Syndicate.

Here it is, Calvin being a sweetie to Susie. This is the beginning of a long and problematic "love-hate" relationship between both kids. I don't know why, but boys have this tendency to be totally gross to piss girls off. And sometimes, they like to be gross just because it is fun.

I am the only girl in my dad's side of the family, so when the family joined for any kind of celebration, I was totally left alone. My bro and my cousins used to entertain themselves burning snails, depriving flies of their wings, doing all kind of disgusting mixtures with the food leftovers and so on :?

I was just cuddled by all my aunties, who loved to tie once and again those annoying ribbons that my mum used to make me wear. That wasn't any fun either
.Such a tough childhood, huh?

These are my cousin Chuchin and my bro, in a wedding. See their knees? They had been searching for snails. See those little boxes in their hands? Those are matches boxes. Guess the rest of the story :?

These pics are for Stacey, a little bit of my mum for her :)

This is my mum, when she was 3.

This is me, same age. Wow, right? We did look alike quite a lot, don't we?

This si pissy me, the pic which was in my profile for a while. I was years old. At present, I look nothing like my mum, I look totally like my dad. How weird is that?

On the personal note, I didn't go watch "The X men" yesterday night. Kewlz told me that there were some cuties involved, but bf worked the afternoon shift and our timing was a bit too tight to arrive on time. Today they are playing "Superman the Return" in which I'm not interested. As I was afraid, today I totally slept in. I hardly catch any decent zzzz time during work days, so I sleep most of my Saturday mornings. Meaning that I didn't go take some pics of the festivals in my neighbourhood but I'll do that tomorrow, I hope. I finally had my wifi aka wireless broadband internet set up. This cutie showed up yesterday after lunch and only needed like 10 minutes to arrange everything. So cool that my beloved portable was finally put into good use. Yay! However, it is taking me ages to get used to it (I totally miss my mouse) but well, here we are, getting to know each other :D

Of wild flowers and denial

Today's one is cute, isn't it?. When I was a kid, we used to play to the prairies and I always brought my mum a bunch of wild flowers. There were this beautiful little blue bellflowers that I loved, and also the daisies. And there were these other yellow ones that I'm afraid my mum disliked a lot because she always told me that if I cut any of those yellow ones, I would pee in bed  And then there were these red ones, with tiny petals, that my mum said that tasted like wine. I used to eat one of the petals and agree that they tasted like wine. As if I knew then how wine tasted. My mum cracked up

So, the thing was that, not to forget, first of all I used to cut all this beautiful flowers and then I played with my friends. That, and the fact that I always needed my hands to play with the small lizards and the ladybirds, to hold my dog's lead, to bring back home some toys... made the flowers end up in my pocket. Well, sorta, because I just shoved inside the stems so the petal won't ruin

And by the time I arrived home, I'm rather sure that my bunch wasn't all that pretty, but my mom received it with her brightest smile. And it made me soooo happy to see her hapy, that I kept on carrying her bunches all the time. She kept them in a jar with water, and all of a sudden they just disappeared. According to my mum, they just dried off. So I thought that when flowers dried they vanished:lol:

Did you bring flowers to your mum when you were kids? :)

Calvin and Hobbes are propriety of Bill Watterson and Universal Press Syndicate.

Again, the new girl inc-lass. Calvin totally denies that he likes her, which is an attitude that I've seen a lot of times in kids and grown ups. People tend to deny to obvious, to mock what they wish. I remember when my friends used to talk like too much about this certain guy who was this and that and nothing good, and I was like "yeah right, you just like him too badly". Which was true the majority of the cases :D

I've never done that. I was pretty straight away and told whom I liked. Never beat around the bush. And then never dared to do anything about it, but hey, I'm a prude. So my friends ended up dating those guys they pretended to despise, and I was still miles away to even talk with my crushes. Always daydreaming. Well, not always

On the personal note, I loved all your comments regarding "V for Vendetta". Now anyone please can tell me wtf happens? Kidding. I was really enjoying the movie, but all of sudden I got lost (not such a big thing, I still can't tell when Arnold Schwarzenegger is dreaming and when he is not in "Total Recall" ). Well, I don't want to ruin it for anyone, but when she is cut her hair (you know, that part) I was lost. I don't understand that bit. But whatever, it was just ok. I loved the "Benny Hill" bit, that was hilarious. And I loved when she woke up at his places surrounded by tons of books :shock:Paradise to me. How beautiful is Natalie Portman? Today they show "The X Men". I think it's the 2nd part of something *shrugs*I dunno who the X Men are, go figure. Yeah, I'm terrible at films too. If we go, I'll tell you what I think of it :)

After some home improvement and before the movies, I went for a walk to my quarter fiestas. There was nothing big going on at that moment, so I'll try and take some pictures tomorrow. There is these couple of things I would love to show you. Cross my fingers that tomorrow I get up before lunch :P
