Avengers Assemble!

I watched the Avengers. See below for the review.

I signed up for summer classes which start this coming Monday, the 7th. They are online classes, so I won't have to pay for gas which is a plus. On the down side, I won't be able to see some of my buddies as much, but we keep in touch so it's alright.

My favorite current game is Bastion. Although RE5 and Yugioh online are fun, Bastion is something special. Third Strike has always been one of my favorites.

Shows I've been watching lately:

Actually, I have watched all of the listed anime to some extent besides Tengen Toppen Gurren Lagann, but I just felt like getting into them again.

Movies I've watched recently:

Avengers- Very good movie. It Has action, drama, and humor. I liked all the characters and the plot. Although it wasn't the best film I've ever seen, it is quite enjoyable. I intend to buy a copy once it is released on blu ray.

Everything else:

-Expendables- It was okay, but the actors are beginning to show their age.

-Fist of Legend- Seen this many times, but it still enjoyable

-Fearless- Also seen this but it was on netflix, so I decided to watch it again. Great movie.

-Point Break- Yet another rewatched film. It's alright.

-Jackie Chan's First Strike- The last on the rewatched list. It's one of Jackie Chan's more exciting movies with some incredible stunts. I was impressed with how he used a ladder as a weapon.

-Bleach Hell Chapter- Saw this for the first time the other day on youtube. I enjoyed it.

-Hulk vs Thor- Just finished this a few minutes ago. It was okay but could have been better.. Would give it a 6/10.

March games

I recently beat Assassin's Creed II. The ending came as a bit of a surprise. Not because I had never heard of anything like it, but actually the opposite. I didn't expect a high profile game franchise to be using it. It's interesting to me. About the gameplay itself, I enjoyed it. The digitally reconstructed Renaissance is gorgeous. The architecture and landscapes are very good. The actual combat is still as easy as the first one. Take that however you want. However, it wouldn't be fair to say that it's the same game. There are many more weapons and assassination techniques. If you need to go somewhere but would rather avoid fighting, you can hire a group of courtesans or thieves to distract them. Another choice would be to hire sellwords to fight in your place.

About the main character, Ezio Auditore is an interesting man. Being a noble and of an assassin bloodline, he has a graceful silhouette while maintaining an air of strength. (As a side note, if you look at his shadow, it looks like he has wings. I wonder if that was done on purpose or it's just a coincidence.)His respect for the departed is admirable, as can be seen when he gives a final farewell to his victims. I liked being able to go to a tailor and purchase different color palettes. The capes are also good since they allow the player's actions to go less, but not totally unnoticed by certain city guards. Altair's armor cannot be tailored differently. I do not mind since it's a good looking outfit. The armors were asthetically pleasing, as well.

Blending in with the crowd is still a key part of gameplay. At the same time, fighting out in the open does happen. It's inevitable. They are many ways to defeat your opponents, whether it be simply hand to hand, with knives and swords, or even a gun (new to the series and the west at that point in history). There's even a part where you pilot a flying machine by Leonardo da Vinci, a close friend of Ezio. That was one of my favorite parts, by the way.

With Assassin's Creed III coming out this October, I'm glad to have beaten the main two games of the series. I might purchase Brotherhood and Revelations just to complete the series.

Next on the list is Demon Souls.

Recent activities

I decided to buy a PS3 after a few years without having a console. I got it used off ebay with a new unopened copy of Mortal Kombat. I still haven't used the promo code for Mileena. I also got Assassin's Creed 2. School's coming along and I'm studying hard to pass my classes. I have started going to the academic success center to get some tutoring for the two math classes I'm taking. As for my current humanities course, I don't think there are any tutors for that one. I'll just have to study hard on my I own if I want to pass.

Besides that, I've been looking for work in Sanford. I hope I find something soon. Also, I went to the Army recruiting center and took the ASVAB in Tampa and then the MEPS test after that. So, I can enlist if I choose to.

That's all for now.

Blacklight Retribution beta

A new game is coming out and some beta keys are being given out in this thread by JodyR. She's a gamespot administrator, in case you didn't know.

I was given two and I already used one. I don't know if anyone is interested and I would rather avoid picking, so first comment gets it.

Watching new anime

Been talking with people about good shows and I've started to form a list.

So far the list is:

Hellsing OVAs

Monster

Ergo Proxy

New Euraka 7

They may not be brand new, but I've never watched them. I like all sorts of anime, so I can't wait to see these.

GS situation

If anyone has been on the Off-Topic forum within the past few days, then they probably know at least a little bit about why so many users were suddenly indefinitely suspended and many of their friends decided to change their avatars to Chris Hansen.

I suppose I know a bit more than I would like to. Went to TDH in the first time in over a year to get a less censored view of the subject in question. It's as awful as I remember.

Anyway, it's a strange situation. I don't think the people running GS are afraid of gettingcaught red-handed. At the same time, there is probably more to it than what most people know.

New semester

So, with the spring semester started, I've been mainly looking around for work and readjusting myself to the schedule. I found out the other day that there will be a martial arts tournament this July. My training for it starts tomorrow, if anyone's interested.

Other than that, it's just the usual routine for classes. They don't seem out of the ordinary, but they did just get started. Maybesomething interesting will happen.

I also plan on joining a couple clubs, if they have them this time. Namely thekarate and chess clubs.

Chess

I recently made a thread on chess in Off-Topic Discussion. I just wanted to know who liked the game. It seems more than a few people do. I've been playing lately on instantchess.com and chess.comand I'm having fun learning new strategies and tactics.

Do you play chess? If so, where do you play and how often do you do it?

Spring semester starts Monday

With the Fall semester over, I only have this semester and then threemore credits to go before I get my A.A. degree. After that, I'll betransfering to a 4-year school. Time's moving fast.
