Back in Black, I hit the sack, I've been too long, I'm glad to be back!!!

No, I'm not talking about that AC/DC cover that i mentioned in passing in a previous blog. no, this is a return of my video series.

Though it is not plot centered this time. No more lip syncing. These are live renditions of Mike's F'd Up Journey songs...and one cover song.

I've already posted a few videos from this jam. This is the surprise i mentioned earlier. The formal music video for Byzantium is still on its way, don't worry.
please watch.

Why Doesn't Rock Band have more Iron Maiden?!??

I mean seriously!!!

We get Run to the Hills on the disc, we get a bad cover of Number of the Beast ...and that's it!!!

Come on! Judas Priest had the entire Screaming for Vengeance album put on Rock Band.

Why not put up it's equivalent, the Number of the Beast album? (they came out the same year and are both the definitive releases for their respective bands).

Seriously! You'll put in a three pack of Disturbed, Jimmy Buffet and Weezer (and two three packs of Nine Inch Nails!!!) before giving us some more Maiden!?!

At least give us Hallowed Be Thy Name! That'll complete the Number of the Beast trifecta. Oh and make it the master version not some lame cover.

Maiden has great bass lines, awesome guitar riffs and solos, pounding drums and some of the finest metal vocals ever! Show them some love already. Make a deal with them!

This rant brought to you by the folks at The Organization for the Better Treatment of Maidens Made of Iron.

Our slogan: "Up the Irons!"

OH NOES!!!! TAGGED AGAiN!!!!

lOOKS LIKE i HAVE BEEN TAGGED...AGAIN....

here's 10 more things

1 ) I hate those "relationship" ads on Facebook. With the fury of 1000 suns.
2 ) I'm depressed.
3 ) I'm working on a cover of Back in Black but I'm struggling with the solo.
4 ) 80-90% of modern music makes me wanna hurl. Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters and Green Day are good though.
5 ) I want to make another episode for my Rock Opera... but very few people seem to watch them...
6 ) My astrological sign is Cancer.
7 ) I wouldn't get a 360, even if it was free. Or would I?
8 ) I wish I had a band...but none of my friends play an instrument.
9 ) Metal Gear Solid is my favorite video game series ever.
10 ) The first 5 people to comment on this blog will get a free song.

Thanks to everyone for participating in the joke contest. Since only one person actually told a joke (sorry aaron, a joke has to be more than one sentence), our winner is cousin_ eddy. congratulations! He will receive his choice of 1-3 mp3s from my large music collection. Look out for future opportunities to win.

Since the topic was about funny jokes, here's one that i'd like to share. I know some pretty outrageous ones but i can't remember them well enough to do them justice. Here's one i learned all the way back in elementary school, back in the mid 90's. Scary huh?

A woman is at home taking a shower. She hears the doorbell ring. She looks out the window and sees that it's a cop. She puts on a towel to cover up and goes to the door.
The cops says "Congratulate me, i've just arrested my 100th criminal."
She congratulates him and goes back to the shower. A few minutes go by and the doorbell rings again. She looks out the window and sees that it's a fire fighter. She puts on her towel again and goes to the door.
The fire fighter says "Congratulate me, i've just put out a fire and saved hundreds of lives".
She congratulates him and goes back to the shower. A few more minutes go by and the doorbell rings. She looks outside and sees the neighborhood blind man standing at the door. Frustrated, she goes to the door without putting her towel on.
When she answers the door, the blind man says to her "congratulate me...I can see".

Did ya like it?

Who was born 21 years ago today? Think about it...Hmmm?

ME!!!!
W00T!!!

Ok, now that that is out of the way... Birthdays are a weird concept. We reward someone just for being born and surviving a whole year after their previous birthday and then the cycle starts all over.
I finally have my full, unrestricted driver's licence (no more Under 21 label on it). I got a PSP with GoW: Chains of Olympus and Lego Indiana Jones for the PS3 (i like a broad spectrum of games; it doesn't always have to be uber serious).
I wanna say thank you to all my GS friends who support me, post on my blog, listen to my music (Mike's F'd Up Journey) and are generally winners (in my proverbial "book").

What are you doing today?

Wanna win something? Post away!

OK, I figured that maybe it's time to shake things up around here.

Here is a little contest:

You have to post the following:

The funniest joke you know.

Awards will go out to the top 5-10 posters. These are good prizes, so don't be shy. I'm going to judge it based on how hard I laughed because of the joke.

Good Luck! Contest ends on my Birthday, July 16th.

You are a Juiced Walrus!!!!

OK. I feel bad at how unproductive the first couple of months of my vacation have been so I'm glad that I can now say that I've accomplished something.

I recorded my newest MFUJ single "Juiced Walrus". This song has a bunch of inspirations. The vocal styles i emulated Jello Biafra and Kurt Cobain. The music has elements of Nirvana and Queens of the Stone Age... I guess. The title came from Jrodsly. The solo came from a four note pattern that I've been experimenting with.

Anyways, check it out. (for some reason, MP3.com is F***ed up)

Hey, hey mama, said the way you move gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove

Brickmanfalcon News:

1) Ok. I'm filming a couple of videos next week so look out for those. One is a surprise and the other is the aforementioned video to "Byzantium" (my gothic punk/metal song set to the lyrics of William Butler Yeats).

2) I've been trying to force myself to write a new song. I've written the lyrics and I am still working out the arrangement. It's a cross between Nirvana and the Dead Kennedys. This would all be infinitely simpler if I had a band to help me...but I don't so it's more work for me.

3) I also have an upcoming collaboration coming up with a fellow gamespot member. It will be a remake of a classic rock song. I'll give you more details when we get further along.

4) Jrodsly is now the leader of the Ultimate Green Day Fan Union. I'm sure he'll do a fine job. Please send him some words of encouragement and support.

5) In a few weeks I'm turning 21.

6) I am the Mole* (* the Mole is a registered trademark of ABC)

8) It's the end of the world as we know it...and I feel fine.

My resignation: the end of an era

I'm seriously considering resigning from the office of Leader of the Ultimate Green Day Fan Union. I've failed as a leader. Union activity is at a bare minimum (as it is with the OTU). I lack the drive and energy. I guess I'm too old for this line of work. If I do resign, I guess that means Jrodsly might end up being the successor (I'm not sure how the selection process works).

It's been a good run. I'll still be around if ya need me. I just think that I'm not cut out for this job. I've had a lot of fun and was glad to see the Union rise from the very beginning. Although it is no longer in its prime, I'm still honored to have been its leader and to have met a bunch of really cool people.

I'll think about it over the weekend before making my final decision.

Your Leader,
