[QUOTE="-GeordiLaForge-"]Congrats :) Do you have a good CPU cooler picked out yet?-GeordiLaForge-

Yeah, I am thinking of using the Xigmatek HDT-S1283, it will be a tight fit in my Antec P180B case but I think (hope!!!) it will fit. :D

It'll fit in your case :) I was going to recommend the Scythe Mugen 2, but they're out of stock for 3 weeks...

Thanks but that won't fit on my motherboard. The heatpipes on the heatsink will not fit between the heatpipes on the motherboard. Doesn't matter if I won't get it for three weeks, the HD5870 is out of stock everywhere in my part of the world (Finland :)) anyway. So I'll have to wait for that. :(

Is it worth upgrading to 4gb of 1066mhz RAM if that's the max my motherboard (P5N32-SLI Premium) can take? I currently have 2gb of 800mhz RAM and was going to buy 2gb more, but is the performance boost (in games) worth the extra cash?

Oblivion always keept crashing for me, and that was xfire. Turned it of and it never crached once after that, a shame coz I like having xfire running.

I have an Antec P180B case (a great case) and I am going to swap out my stock Intel cooler for a new one. I want to get the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 (read good things about it) but the specs say that its 159mm high and that rely is pushing it. I tried measuring but couldn't get a close enough number.

Anyone got a big cooler in the P180??

So a HD5780 would get bottlenecked by my E6600@2.4 and 4gb of Kingston 800mhz ram?

Daytona_178

Yeah, a bit. Give it an overclock to 3.0Ghz and your fine.

Yeah, I just might do that. What cooler do you recommend, I've been looking at the CM Hyper 212 Plus.

I used the original Coolermaster hyper 212 for my p5q deluxe before switching to water cooling. All I can say that its a GREAT cooler. If its true that hyper 212+ is better performing than the original, I would highly recommend it.

P.S. The heatpipe actually won't touch the MB. It will be close but won't touch it. Truest me because p5q deluxe has similar cooling heat pipes on the MB

I sure hope your right about the heat pipes! :P I'll be sure to let you know, mind you :D

Yes they do loock verry much the same, lets just hope it fits :|
