@olddadgamer: You already got the right answer, but I'll also add that there should still be a free demo to check out and see if it's your kinda game. ;)
@mogan: This right here. The writing really wasn't the best, but I had a ton of fun just trying out the different variations on the suits. And even if the writing wasn't the best, I was still able to enjoy it. As I said below, I'm easy to please lol
@mooglestar: I will tell you this, I have been enjoying the crap out of my time with FW! Slow rolling the heck out of it, as I am want to do with most SP games XD
@mooglestar: @Barighm I'm curious to see how this live service plan works out. If done right, they can be good. If done wrong however... Destruction Allstars as an example, game wasn't really the greatest, but I had some fun the first week or so, while voice chat was auto enabled. That game lost all fun when they changed the VC to auto disabled. I was having more fun talking smack while getting my butt kicked and laughing along with everyone. Destiny 2 is another example of done wrong(sorry Mogan). That game has gone far away from what it could have been.
Now, an example of done right(subjective, I know) PSO2:NGS. Once you hit the "endgame", you are free to step away for a while to play other games. You likely won't miss much, no real fomo(unless you really need to whale on dress-up items). Played it to my content, spent a little bit on the cash shop to support, and am taking a break till the next big patch.
Now, I'm not sure where FFXIV would fall... MMO sure, but would it be considered "live service"? If so, then that would be a shining example of done right, in my book. ;)
@Barighm: Sadly, there is no stopping them. It's bound to happen from any and all sides. I have my preferred plastic box and was never planning to play this game, but man am I sad to see this for those that were looking forward to it.
