It took me so long because I had to take the mobo out of the case and put everything back together each time I did it.
Should have used the stock cooler, wouldn't have neded to do that then because it's so small.

Still doesn't work. Has to be something wrong with it. Too bad I don't have another PC to test it with.

It's hard to get the push pins in properly, but I've don it a few times, and it took under 1 minute for me to do it now. :D

Posting again soon, hopefully it's going to work now!!

EDIT: I just put in the new CPU again, and my PC just doesn't start with it. So I guess something's wrong with it?

The CPU looks perfectly fine to me, but my heatsink now has marks from the edges of the CPU on it, because I was pushing it so hard.

I can't really find any other explanation to it. I've used that CPU for a week, and it's been working fine until now.

EDIT: Could the heatsink not being on properly cause the PC to not start? I'm canging CPUs again, putting it on harefully this time, because I'm not sure if I did it completely right before.

Yesterday I changed my cooler, and I think I squished the CPU a little bit. (thanks to horrible push pins!!!)
My PC wouldn't start, so now this morning I put in my old CPU and it works perfectly again.

WTF!? PUSH PIN RAGE!!!! I bought the CPU about a week ago!

I found the guide, but for some reason I just couldn't get my flashdrive to boot. I'm sure I did everything the same way as before, with all the right files and bios settings.

So I did it through Windows. It was quite frightening after hearing all the horror stories, but luckily it worked. :D

Mobo: ABIT IP35-E

I updated my bios once a couple of weeks ago, but now I have to do it again because I got a Q9550 processor, and it has some issues with my mobo, so I have to update to a specificbios version to get my PC working again. Annoying!!

I found a great guide that was for my mobo that someone posted on some forum somewhere (yeah.....) it also contained all the files needed to do this.
Unfortunately I can't find that guide anymore. I tried searching for some other ones, and tried to make my usb stick bootable with the bios files, but it's just not working. I guess some crucial files are missing or something.

Need help!!

ASUS 1GB.

So far I've only tried going over 765 while playing BC2, and then my PC shut down after playing for 1 minute. But I'll try it with Crysis now to see what happens, or hopefully doesn't happen.

EDIT: Also tomshardware.com says that Crysis runs at 28.4 fps average with stock clocks, but I'm already dipping below 30 fps with this thing overclocked, and I'm only right at the beginning of the game. (I also use the excact same settings as they did) Plus they probably ran the Crysis benchmark which is heavier than the beach from the beginning, so I probably get terrible fps in the actual benchmark.

Wtf is up with that?

Just decided to try out Crysis with my new GTX 460, and also overclock it, and damn it seems to overclocks well.

I put my core clock to 765, which is apparently the best I can do, even by raising voltage. I've read about other people getting past 900. :(

That gave me +8 fps. Then I put the memory up to 2000, which probably only gave me about +0.5fps, but I have't maxed it yet, so I will raise it a bit more.

Good card, and the 95% fps increase in SLI I read about isn't bad either. :D

I opened the case and listened to the noise, it's definitely coming from the PSU.
