Did I enjoy MGS4? Absolutely

Do I think MGS4 is GOTY SO FAR? Yes

Do I think MGS4 is the best game ever? Oh hell no. Not even close.

LOL, you must not play much. Ive already logged 24 hrs and theres occasional drops and usually at night you can not find a ranked server.

Your occasional drops and inablitiy to find a ranked server at night does not make the rest of the world have these same issues.

Not saying they don't happen, but as I stated before I haven't ran into any yet, and I doubt I'm the only one ...

I respect your opinion either way though. I guess it's good not everyone is claiming MGS4 the "best" game out this year - should serve for an intense GOTY battle at the end of the year, which is always a good thing. The more amazing games produced = a more enjoyable generation of gaming.

I've always said R2 was my GotY as well, and that doesn't make me a fanboy, nor does make abdel one either. Just because someone has a different opinion doesn't make him a fanboy.

If so, many pople could be labeled as fanboys as well, because they claimed MGS4 GotY 6 months before the year ended, without giving any other game a chance to compete. Sounds familiar?? I thought so.

First off sorry if calling him a fanboy came off in a negative way, wasn't my intention. I just meant his sig which called R2 the GOTY since January may make his opinion towards other games a little biased since he had such a high opinion of the game months before even being released. What if the game turned out like crap?

In the end it didn't, it turned out great and I'm more than happy it did. And there's also nothing wrong with his sig or his statement I quoted, because it's nothing more than his opinion. Everyone's entitled to their own, and like abdel, I stated mine. Doesn't make either of us right or wrong.

And like I said in my original post I'm glad there are people that disagree with me, like abdel and yourself GreenGoblin because the more different opinions there are over what game reigned supreme this year, the more interesting the end of the year awards will be.

No matter which game wins GOTY I do know one thing: All PS3 owners were winners this year with all of the amazing games released. 2008's lineup put to 2007's lineup to shame IMO.

Warhawk - fairly addictive

Some quality multiplatforms:
Fallout 3 - if youve never played Oblivion pick up the Elder Scrolls Oblivion first, then get fallout 3 later.

Dead Space - fun until 30 minutes of gameplay, not even scary because its to action orientated

BioShock - quite fun somehow
Call of Duty 4 - overrated and boring

Call of Duty 5 - Never played but Zombie shooting sounds great
Far Cry 2 - boring
Assassin's Creed - Aboslute reppetition

Grand Theft Auto IV - good if youve never played a GTA game before

Mirror's Edge - Never played but it doesnt appeal to me either

Eternal Sonata - Never played
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - An absolute blockbuster of gaming, just dont get it on PC

Burnout Paradise - pretty good if youve never played a Burnout game

Devil May Cry 4 - never tried any devil may cry games

Soulcalibur IV - never tried
Battlefield: Bad Company - pretty boring

The Darkness - pretty nice

Conedemned 2 - utter crap
Unreal Tournament 3 - ive never liked unreal touranment games

Civilization Revolution - I dont like it, its exactly the same as Civilization 4 on PC.
