I preface my advice by saying I don't think TP is the best game ever or even my favorite Zelda.  However, I spent about 50 hours beating it, and it is a really good game.  It is quite long, and it starts slow.  Trust me though, IT ONLY GETS BETTER.  Even as a Zelda fan, I didn't think the forest temple was that cool.  But dont' worry, you have 8 more dungeons plus all the stuff in between, and it's very nice stuff.
