My first impressions of Perfect Dark Zero has been that it was lacking. However, I've started to grow to really enjoy it. The only two problems you could really say that it has is that some games drag on too long (which can be solved by simply leaving) and finding a room that plays your favorite types of multiplayer.
The thing that really stands out to me is that you can't compare the multiplayer to Halo 2. It's a completely different style of multiplayer. While Halo 2 is an awesome experience in its own right, I think above all, PDZ rewards the accuracy of your shots. It takes so much to kill someone in PDZ, and it makes it more satisfying when you kill someone...Especially when you see "Headshot" down at the bottom of the screen after you drop someone.
I can see myself playing this game for as long as others agree with me and continue to play it online. This deserves to be a game in your launch collection. If you like first-person-shooters, I would say that this is a must buy.Â

People Are Crazy

Some of these Gamerscores on Xbox Live are insane. I thought I was pretty good at 600. But I see people with 2700?! Are they insane? How do they get so many points?
I'm guessing the rent games, look at the achievements and then do them. Wash their hands and repeat.
I think I'll have to start doing that. I must have more points. My honor is on the line!

When I got my hard drive, I figured, what the hell, I'll grab some of those Microsoft "points" -- or "bits." (whatever you want to call 'em.)
Now, back in the day, when I was a little kid, I wasn't a kid to go to the arcade and play. We had an arcade shop, but it kind of sucked. Besides, I had NES, SNES, Game Boy to hold me over. I don't even remotely remember any of the Xbox Live Arcade games that are being offered.
For the 400 'points' that each Geometry Wars and Smash TV cost me, easily the best five bucks you can buy. It is a excellent change of pace to go back and just have some mindless fun. Some days, I don't have much time to play my 360, but I can jump in and play some Geometry Wars really quick.
Hexic HD, which -- as everyone probably knows -- comes free with the hard drive. I found this game probably the best of the lot. Even though it is a little more time consuming, it's still a game where you can think through what you are doing. It's not frantic, unless of course you are playing the timed mode.
I wasn't expecting much from these games, but I've slowly become addicted to them.

Xbox 360 Madness!

Well, after freezing my ass off for a while the day after launch--I finally got the Xbox 360. Sadly for me -- only a core. My local Target only received one premium and six core systems.
I bit the bullet and didn't want my time to be wasted, so I picked it up. Still looking for my hard drive. Supposedly, my local Target will be getting more 360's and hard drives on Saturday, so it looks like I'll have a little more waiting to do. Not as much though, as the people waiting outside will probably be looking for 360's.
With the core system, I was going to buy Call of Duty 2 and Project Gotham Racing 2. Again, I was out of luck. Lucky me though, I got another great game -- Perfect Dark Zero. I'm actually glad I got this instead of Call of Duty 2. It's ten dollars cheaper and although I haven't played it on Xbox Live yet, what I am hearing is that the multiplayer on Perfect Dark and Call of Duty 2 is night and day.
Project Gotham is an addicting game. I can't wait to try it online. The sense of speed is truly one of the best experiences of the game so far. I love when there are stretches of straight road and you are pulling up next to another car, trying to blow past them. That feeling is the highlight of the game for me. I'm sure online will be very addicting for both Perfect Dark Zero and Project Gotham.
Perfect Dark Zero and Project Gotham Racing 3 are a must for anyone remotely interested in first-person shooters or racing games. These really are the best value games for the launch line-up and have great replay value through Xbox Live. There are a lot of games that are good rentals. (Call of Duty 2, Kameo and Condemned instantly come to mind as having great individual player campaigns, but lack a multiplayer game that are things that people look for in replay value.)

NHL 2K5: Best Hockey Game EVAR.

Wow, I just got this today. $19.84 is all it was. It is an incredible game. I just wish I had an Xbox before I spent 50 dollars on that piece of crap NHL 2005. NHL 2K5 offers better gameplay than 2005, which just offers flashy graphics and great player models. Well, the players are obviously the least important part of the game.
So many things to do in NHL 2K5, so many modes. If you are a hockey fan...GET THIS GAME.
