My Wii made a noise kind of like you mentioned for a while (back when MP3 was still new). I tried lots of things to fix it, but what finally worked was laying it down on its side for a while. The noise slowly subsided and then stopped altogether, and now I've had it standing up again for a long time and the noise has never come back. I hope this helps!
I try not to buy more than one game every three months, although I often indulge and get a game once every two months. It gets difficult pacing myself during some months when the Wii and the DS both release great games!
By the way, it's not that I can't afford them, it's that I don't think it's good to waste too much money on video games.
Hey, I still have one of those MAX controllers! I didn't like the circle-for-a-psuedo-analog-stick very much, but it had turbo, so that more than made up for it...I wish controllers these days had turbo!
Also, my older brother told me that he read somewhere that Nintendo was making white gamecube-esque controllers for the Wii. I have no idea how valid his statement was, and I don't even know how much he believed it, but it's something to consider.
Generic dude, I don't see what your problem with the nunchuk wire is. I have a wingspan of 6' 5" and I haven't had any trouble with the wire being "too short." (I don't stretch it out all the way, of course, but there's no need for me to do that while playing a game.) I agree with you about the storage space, though.
The Wii is my only this-gen console, and I like it a lot. Not that I don't like the other systems, but I really enjoy my collection of Wii games.
I agree that Nintendo's press conference would be highly disappointing, if it weren't for this line: "He thanks the audience for attending, and says they'll feel that next big thing in Nintendo's games over the next few days of the show."
I don't think Nintendo is done revealing secrets. They've probably got their biggest ones yet stashed away for the rest of E3. Remember last year?
Also, think of it this way (this is purely speculation): why would Nintendo not wait for Sony to reveal their big guns, and then show off their own surprise? If I were Nintendo, I would pull my last stunt after Sony is done, thus stealing their limelight. They revealed something right before Microsoft, so why not mess with Sony?
I'm just saying, don't count Nintendo out yet.
