Crysis has pretty good single player if you don't mind crappy performance on high end hardware. But, in overall value Orange box wins hands down.

I'm heavily debating on whether to purchase this game now that it is on sale at circuit city for 30$. I just don't know how much use I will get out of it since I'm still really addicted to CoD4.

Assuming I'll be able to run this game out of the box(using 64bit vista), is this a refreshing change from games such as CoD4 or TF2? Or is it just another game that will collect dust on my shelf?

[QUOTE="captalchol"]I would recommend the free version of farcry. Although, I don't know if it will fill your low space requirements.JP_Russell

You can't get the free version of Far Cry anymore. It was a one week thing for Americans only in celebration of Labor Day. You can still find the free version downloadable at some places, but you can't initiate the game anymore, so it's useless.

Oh, my bad.

Do widescreen monitors for gaming increase your view in the game? Like a widescreen movie you can see more on the sides, is this also true in a widescreen game?

Windows is already the gaming OS. The other major OS's (mac and linux) aren't. Sorry to burst your bubble dude.

yet again.....promoting vista.

how much m$ paying them?

eva89

3dmark 06 is already a capable dx9 benchmark. All future cards will be dx10 or higher, and we don't have a true benchmark for this. So I see no problem with them moving forward and creating a dx10 only benchmark.

stupid thats its onlt for vista and DX10 people as thats less than roughly 10% of gamers.yoyo462001

Well the reason they are making a dx10, vista only version is because 3dmark 06 is already a good standard for xp dx9 benchmarking. They explain it better than I could in the developer diary video at http://www.futuremark.com/3dmarkvantage/.
