[QUOTE="captalchol"]This thread is ridiculous there are other games besides the HL games in the orange box. In my case I wanted ep2 and TF2 but it was still more affordable to buy the orange box than the 2 separately on steam.
And I get to give away my extra copies of HL2 to a lucky friend.

I fail to see how you think this thread is ridiculous for several reasons....
- I already own Half-Life 2 and Episode 1
- I don't give a rat's behind about TF2 and Portal
- I prefer to own an actual physical object and not just some downloadable object.
- I don't see the need to spend money on products I don't want from the Orange Box.
I see no reason why Vavle wouldn't offer to sell just Episode 2 alone for $20-25(or with TF2 and Portal for $25-30) along side the Orange Box. Why force people to pay for something they already have when all we really want is Episode 2 (some also want TF2 and Portal)?
I just see it as a marketing scam/ploy to get consumers to spend more money then they really need to. Valve kind of leaves you hanging out to dry here unless they sell the games individually on Steam for a decent price. It would really be a shame for some one like me to trun around to buy Episode 2 on Steam and have to spend $20 just for Episode 2 and if at some point in time I did want Portal or TF2, I'd be forced to spend another $10-20 a piece for them.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. As for the time being, I'm Undecided of what I'm going to do until I see all the options when the game(s) hits the shelves.
If you only want episode buy it separately on steam for 30$. You have no reason to whine about not getting a pretty box with an instruction manual. You can always select steam to make a backup for you and burn it to a disk.
Get with the times man.
