I wouldn't and didn't pay full price for it when it was first released but now thats its only 20$ I think its a good buy.
IMO, it was one of those games that got lost in last falls amazing lineup of PC games being released. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't exceptional but for 20$ and in this drought of new PC games for the next few months, I would say go for it.
where can I find the newest drivers? When I googled radeon 4850 drivers nothing really came up should I just use the 3870 drivers?
Also, what is the correct way to use driver cleaner?
Hi, I just upgraded from a 8800gts 640mb to a radeon hd 4850 and my FPS in crysis dropped like 5 fps what gives? I'm getting like 17-25fps now on all high, shaders on very high. The anandtech review estimated crysis at my resolution and card to get 37fps.
my current system is
Vista home premium 64bit
q6600 stock
4gb 800mhz ram
radeon hd 4850
Also, when I go to look for newer drivers I can't find any for the 48xx series besides a hotfix..
I don't know how the gamespot review can call this game overpriced at 30$. It has as much content as a game such as BF2 or quake wars. With more content coming in the forms of achievements and unlockables. Don't tell theres only like 8 or 9 official maps either. The user created maps give this game alot of life too.
As for running the game on your system, I played this game on mixed settings at 800x600 on a laptop with a 1.7ghz pentium m x300 graphics and 1gig of ram at like 30-40 fps.
And your question about the bandwidth, I would guess you would use less than 2gb in a month with a good amount of play, but thats just a guestimate you should be fine.
