@MotelDiscoVerde: Then don't put it at 4K resolution. That 30 FPS can make any game with the highest graphic fidelity look like a blur. 60 FPS needs to be the standard and priority with any current generation game.

Looks great, but despite the awesome graphics and many QoL improvements I still think it misses an"X" factor, like new weapons or aerial/underwater combat. Having bigger maps or mounts in a MH game doesn't really get me excited.

Hated the story, several side characters and the villains in 3. I also think they went too generous with Epic and Legendary weapons, to the point that no weapon felt epic or legendary anymore and it all became too easy. Can't really say I'm excited for this one.

@sakaixx: It's inspired by the Souls game, but neither games have added something that makes the combat system stand out. The choreographed moveset and methodical approach works well in the Souls game because of the difficulty risks involved, otherwise it's just boring and uninteresting.

Both Jedi Academy and Unleashed are arcadey games that are accessible for everyone, yet the combat system for each game possess an "X" factor that makes it intriguing (the finesse in movement and variety of lightsaber combat or the wide combo potential of force abilities). The modern Jedi games have none of that.

It's not minor criticism either as my criticism reflects on an important part of game design, which feels half-heartedly done here. There's nothing wrong with a game with cookie-cutter design, but don't expect everyone to highly praise it when games over one or two decades ago have given us more developed features or interesting mechanics.

@sakaixx: When did I say that they need to copy the Soulsborne games? The combat system in Fallen Order is literally ripped from the Soulsborne games though, without the difficulty curve of course. That's why the lightsaber combat feel so slow.

It's not a bad game but you can tell that the devs played it pretty safe.

@sakaixx: I wouldn't say great. The original Battlefront games are still few of my favorites games of all time. Aside from the high visual fidelity, the EA Battlefront games pale in comparison when it comes to the gameplay features. Removing the class-based system, the regenerating health/unlimited ammo feature and the inclusion of star cards were fundamental mistakes that made the games having no tactical cohesion. They were completely mindless shooters.

The Fallen Order games are very cookie-cutter in design as well, lacking the high-risk combat design of the souls games or not having the thrilling speed and abilities we've seen in the Jedi Knight/Force Unleashed series. I guess we haven't played a great Star Wars game for over a decade, so average might suffice.

It's Ubisoft. Even before the woke era, they were making bad games. They haven't produced anything memorable or great for a very long time.

The gameplay looks similar to that of DAI with flashier animations but with much less tactical options. If hack-and-slash gameplay is what they're going for, why even bother implementing the pause mechanic? That works for tactical cRPG's, but it seems cumbersome in action-based games and only serves to slow the game down.

It's as if the devs want to move towards action-based gameplay but, knowing that they're far outclassed by Japanese developers in the genre, decided to back-pedal and sprinkle some rudimentary tactical RPG features in it.

@joecollin: The problem is that I highly doubt that the devs can reproduce the gritty atmosphere from the original games, let alone the testosteron-fueled dialogue. We're not in the 90's/early 2000's anymore.

@nazart81: Combat and the controls were great in MGSV, a huge upgrade over the previous games. It's everything else that lets it down.
