You will find vizio in sams and circuit city. I got my vizio 42" from Sams club only because of the excellent return policy. I'm not talking about abusing the policy but I can sleep better at night knowing that my TV is covered without expensive extended warranties.

The answer is yes if sony does not drop the price on the current hardware. I would figure that people hear about a new psp and care less about the old one. It only makes since to move old stock by cutting prices. Would you buy a 2007 vehicle for $20,000 or would you buy a 2008 for $20,000 or even $20,500 for that matter? I'm in for the old one if they drop it below $120. If sony does not cut the prices on old stock they are crazy.

After going to 2 gamestops the clerks did not see any difference in sells. Best buy actually has a mountain of them but not sure how many moved there. I know amazon is doing good because you get a 6th movie, remote and most people do not have to pay taxes. I think even with a price drop things should go back to normal (ps3's collecting dust) in a few weeks. I was going to buy one but price cuts do not make great games and I know I would get tired of it quickly and regret my purchase. But hay, it's got a blu-ray player so you can watch your movies over and over and over again.

now if only they give it online functionality since they're doing so for the 360The_Rick_14

OMG-Virtua fighter 5 does not have online play. I must have been living under a rock. Why advertise free online play if you can't put it into a game?

Oblivion is one of those games worth the money but it will suck a lot of time away. It is a very detailed game and there are many directions. But I would pick up Resistance, finish it and then buy Oblivion.

[QUOTE="cdmoore74"]

If I own a 360 already what's my reason to buy a PS3 if the same game is coming out for both systems? RFNeo

Your answer right here:

yes, the 3 rings of death is bad but you must understand why it happens. It is a bad design when the system gets so hot the solder heats up and when it cools down you have a poor electrical connection. To counter this I have bought 2 coolers; one for the back and one when the unit stands up. It sucks but microsoft "is" taking care of their customers by extending the warranty to 3 years for this design issue. Sure they ate billions but microsoft is much bigger than Sony and can aford to take such a hit. The only way to fix this is with proper cooling. It may be badbut my 360 still works and the games rock. When I get a PS3 or any future console I will add external cooling.

I gave up thinking about buying a PS3 right now. I decided that I will just wait. I got plenty for my 360 and Wii until real games are released for the PS3. Don't get me wrong the ps3 is nice but I have a feeling that when the must have games come out the PS3 will have more price cuts. If Metal gear solid was released next week I would buy today.Plus after Sony's behavior this week it just makes me uneasy. I feel that their on the ropes and dodging questions with bull$hit answers. This is coming from a guy that bought a 3DO for $700 and just a few years later it was $299; what a mistake.

The point is that yes you can buy now for $499 but for how long? We need to have a permanent price drop to assist future PS3 onwers so that game developers have more of an incentive to make games for a particular console. If I own a 360 already what's my reason to buy a PS3 if the same game is coming out for both systems? So far the 360 can go toe to toe tech wise with the PS3. Please don't mention blu-ray because believe or not some people whata videogame player and care less about watching movies. A game developergives a rat's a$$ if your using your PS3 to watch movies. It will hurt sony in the long run if 50% of the people buying PS3's are only watching movies. How will gaming studios recoup production cost if movie watchers are not buying games? I have a feeling that this Blu-ray drive will hurt the PS3 as a gaming machine.

And is it Sony's plan to keep a $600 price point? After seeing interviews with game developers during E3 they want a price battle between sony and microsoft to move and motivate the gaming industry. In two years will we see a 120gig harddrive and 3 bundled games still at $600? I bet that alot of people would have liked a $399 20gig PS3 at this point.

i think they pretty much have to as i stated in another thread. No one wants to go from $500 up to $600. They might keep it at $600 after the 60gb models are gone to see if sales hold up, but i really doubt they will.

But they won'tannounce anything regarding a price drop until all the 60gb are gone. if they said the 80gb will be $500 once the 60gb are gone, no one would buy the 60gb model.

I want to know the reason they want to discontinue the 60gb model. is it because they plan to have all these downloadable games like warhawk and SOCOM?? I don't think Sony needs to compete with the Elite yet as the majority of 360 owners right now have the core or premium.anyway, hopefully this is the last discontinuation we see. I dont want sony to say they are discontinuing the 80gb for a 120gb or something.

Gokuja

The plan is to stop making ps3's with the emotion engine to save money. What other reason can there be?I really do not consider this a price drop more like a clearance sale to get rid of old stock that did not sale. Sony is forcing people to buy up now or else pay $600 for 20 worthless gigs and a game you have no choice over. Sony is putting a scare into people to increase sales. I was happy 2 days ago when Sony dropped the price but after todays news Sony is just evil. My problem is that when the price shoots back up to $600 sales will drop off again. What game developer wants to make games for a slow selling system?

It's about the games and not this blu-ray movie crap. This is called gamespot not moviespot. How many times do you what to watch the same movie over and over again?

Of course it will drop in price but the question is when. I would say in about 2 years it should be around $300 to $350. I would even bet a redesign just like what they didwith the PS2.
