Well I picked it up and I gotta say that I now know why it was named Game of the Year from GameSpot. This is exactly what I wanted from an RPG on the PS3. Thank you all for your feedback, it has all helped out a ton. If any of you have any tips/strategies feel free to post or PM me!FendersONLY
Button mashers should stay away from DS. This game is not for you. Get Dante, Bayonetta or GOW 3. Glad the person i quote has a good taste for games, hopefully next year wont be as bad with all the mashers that are coming out. I am totally against button mashers, kinda worried about what will happen on next year.

Melee can be fun if you avoid his shield slam and falling on you. However draning his hp down with magic can be much easier, if you dont have fragrant ring try to get at leasst 10 fresh spices from Ed (Costs 300 souls each) It should be more than enough to kill him.

Lurker is easy. Use magics on him and the kite him to the ladder. Dont worry if he bezerks.
I killed him after the 7th or 8th try , i was a magician and only had the flame toss and the water veil , none of those helped at att , i had to melee him was was really hard as a magician , when i killed him i felt extremely satisfied .
He is called flame lurker for a reason...Off course fire magics wont work on him. Soul ray or soul arrow is what you have t use on your first cycle. After it, homing soul arrow destroys him. I am on my 10th cycle, level 385 atm, i pratically 1 shot him with just homing soul arrow.
