OK.. Talking about the gameplay itself. NWN2 have mostof the viewing system , 3rd person view, top down view or character chase view. The best is top down view, others quite annoying.
In single player gameplay you have better companionship system that the first, but few of your companionsare quite dumb in battles. Every companions have their own stories, and to follow their stories just like to do side quest and you gain influences against them.
If you're thinking about stories, the first is much better, the second is quite predictive stories even you choose to be good or evil. The levelling system is just like you have the first NWN cw all of the expansion but limited to level 20 only. The modding community are just equal.
If you like NWN1, you gonna like NWN2... They are not so much differences, and ofcourse NWN2 has better graphics.
