Console makers buy most 3rd party platforms or their companies to make more $$$$. Platforms help sell consoles, so the big 3 make their own and search out 3rd party games. As a result , P.C. gamers are pretty much S.O.L.

thx man. I was looking at the new althon II x4,but the lack of L3 cache makes me think other wise.

Ive been comparing the benchmarks of the 4850 to my actual fps in some games and it just doesn't add up. Like crysis for an example, It says I should be getting around 30fps on very high no AA/AF but I'm actualy getting 18-23fps. The same with nba 2k10, I hear of people getting 45-80 on 8800's and 9800's yet i''ll be lucky enough to get 35 on max settings. Is there anything I can do get better fps.

CPU:Athlon X2 5000+ 2.6ghz (had it oced to 2.8 but a bios update undid my settings)

GPU:Hd 4850 512mb

RAM:4gb G.skill ram

HDD:500gb Seagate HDD

PSU:Rosewill 550 watt Sli/crossfire ready

OS: Windows Vista 64 ultimate

Catalyst version: 9.10

I'ma wait for some benchmarks before I jump on the dx11 bandwagon.
