Wow, this is some fucked up shit. Really, really stupid move on SE's part. They'll regret when they end up not selling nearly enough to justify the development costs and see their stock prices tank as a result. They seriously just shot themselves in the foot with this bullshit.

Wouldn't be surprised. That's what happens when you force a ton of graphical effects on a poorly threaded engine.

I don't know...I have a feeling it's gonna be some shitty mobile game. Remember this is Activision we're dealing with. Then again, maybe some higher ups from the Blizzard division pushed for this. It'd certainly be great to see Sierra return to form; hell, we might eventually get a new Swat game!

....doubt it though.

i would like master race to explain what makes this series so great. ive played half life 2 (around 05/06) and found it very boring but because it gets so much praise i forced myself to play further but i eventually couldnt. years later i tried again and i furthest i got was that zombie level part.

half life is so damn boring i dont understand the praise for it, the guns feel great but there is hardly any shooting and ammo is very scarce. the story is meh and the game is mostly puzzle solving like open a valve or something. very overrated game

Play Black Mesa. While I enjoyed HL2, I would agree that there were a bit too many puzzles and such that disrupted the flow of the game. HL1/Black Mesa is far more like a typical shooter and rarely gets as bogged down by puzzles.

that chick had some big ass ears.

Seriously, all I could think of when I was watching it was, "damn, this woman looks goofy as ****." Live-action trailers--ugh! What a horrible ad.

^^I like this theory.

Not surprising at all. Just about every game which utilized significantly higher quality assets for its PC version will eventually be ported over to the next gen consoles. There's no reason not to.

Yeah Nvidia hyped this colossi couple quite significantly to gamers. This post in not intended at directing criticism at these cards (Yeah would love to have one if I had the $$$), but to seek the market/value positioning of these cards. They seemed to be pitted against their own siblings, and strangely offer very little premium over them, given the price.

Other than the frame-buffer size, the only thing I found out about them....they are costly and have great flaunt value.

Leaving that aside:

-Both based on GK110

-Certainly not the the "ultimate gaming GPU" as 780Ti clearly surges ahead in almost ALL benchmarks.

-Not sure how the double precision processing works and adds up to the experience. (any info on this will be great)

So wondering, why would people get them over 780/780ti at an significantly higher cost?

It has certain features that the 780s don't have (such as double precision computing). Such features are completely useless for gamers, but incredibly useful for professionals. Compared to something like a Quadro, the Titan is a steal. I don't know jackshit about it though. The only reason you'd really get one for gaming is just for the VRAM.

Steam Link

"Broforce's free expansion pack based on The Expendables 3, The Expendabros, releases on Steam today. Available for free until December 31, 2014, the add-on includes 10 new missions, and seven characters based on The Expendables 3 -- each with their own unique weapon."

IGN

I played about 30mins of it already. Fun as hell--definitely convinced me to pick up Broforce once it leaves early access.

i put console gaming is dying simply because anyone who thinks Pc gamers are a minority is deluded as hell quite frankly.

Yeah, I don't really agree with the idea that console gaming is dying--it's just stagnant. There will always be a market for them. But yeah, the PC really is growing like crazy. My aha moment was when I started a new job, and was talking with the guys I worked with about gaming and such--literally every single one of them owned a gaming PC. Some of them even had dual GPUs and everything. Fucking blew my mind. If you're not on PC nowadays, you're quite simply missing out on a whole hell of a lot of amazing games. It's that simple.
