Seconding call of duty. Also you can run unrealtournament2004 with low settings if you like fast-paced shooters.

I agree with Thief series. Especially the "cradle" level in thief:deadly shadows was the most "horrorful" level I've ever played.

Counter-strike. I still don't understand how people call it "team-based shooter", when there are games like unreal tournament's onslaught. That's pure team work imo.

Deus-Ex1 in my case. I enjoyed the alternative methods in the games so much that I insisted my friend to play it and enjoyed watching him also. His approach was totally different than mine. That's what I call re-play value. Not to mention the truely-movie quality story.

Well in my opinion, definately it's worth to get in pc. My estimate is mod communites will get much more pro in near future, you might be able to download free content for pc games at a very polished state. Just look at all those mods for half life2. Or more specific, I'm still finding new stuff released for ut2004 after three years of its release, and some of these mods are more fun the actual games themselves.

I would like to know if there is a board for discussion of multi-player beta of Stalker. I know it's a closed beta, maybe such a discussion will not be allowed on public boards, I just wanted make sure. IGN has a very promising preview of the multiplayer beta, I wonder if anyone around here played it? The more info released on this game I get more excited about it.
