Hold up, here is a new link, the Newegg specs are misleading, here is the manufacturer's page (which says one Pcie connector.). Has anyone tried a splitter, such as this one? Thanks :)

Edit: There is another 6 pin connector, buit its not labeled Pci-e.

Grodus5

It is labeled a PCIe connector on Antec's site that you linked to (click the Connectors link on the left). I would go ahead and use it as such

Because in its default configuration Vista uses a lot more RAM for itself than XP did.

The motherboard automatically detected when you installed the add-in video card, right? It will automatically detect when you remove it, too.

Hey everyone, Am planning on building a multimedia/gaming computer end of 09 and need a lil' help. Jared_AKA_God

End of 09 - as in almost 4 months from now? Come back with that question in 3 months, computer hardware changes too rapidly to ask that question so far in advance. By then new, better Dx11 video cards should be out. Who knows, Blu-ray drive prices might fall to the point where it will be worthwhile regardless of your friends PS3 (especially being at/near the holidays).

I'd keep saving for something from the 9800 line or better. A little more cash for a lot more performance boost than the 9600.

Hi All,

I assembled this rig more than 2 years ago and I'm due for an upgrade,

I currently have a Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard and an AMD X2 4200+ processor, running a 7600GT Fatality Edition 256 MB DDR3 Ram graphics card which was mid-level in those times....

I plan on upgrading slowly and (if such a thing exists) futureproofing my rig for some time.

These are the components I had in mind,... GTX 260 SP216, Corsair TX 750, AM2 7850+ BE.

Will these be overkill for my mobo, or can I run them??, Also I only game @ 1280x1024 for now, and I have a stable VIP 500Watts SMPS which is running fine.

In the future(six months) I would like to build another rig runnin a Core i7 then and the 260 SLIed with a much bigger monitor...

Am I buying the right parts??

pratapbond

Sounds logical enough for a near-term upgrade. The i7 + SLI is going to require a new motherboard (i7) and likely a power supply (SLI).

Both are great cards that can run all but the most taxing games at high settings at that res. Its all up to whether you have a brand preference and/or the best deal you find.

[QUOTE="Daytona_178"]

Well we need to know the names of the games first.

hofuldig

Star Trek Brige Commander Starwars Galaxies basicly older games like that. this are the 2 biggest games i want to know about right now

I know Bridge Commander works on Vista 64 for me, and I'm sure Galaxies will too.
