Maybe it's for the same reason that most people do anything: some attempt at leaving a mark on the world before they die. Some people are scared at the idea of being forgotten. One way to avoid being forgotten, at least for a little while in the grand scheme of existence, is to become famous. If you can't manage to become famous you can always try, such as by making a virus, to become infamous. Of course if you consult what Freud said, then everything that a human being does is in the pursuit of sex. Even what you're doing right this second.

I've actually heard this phrase before... Not sure where but I don't even remember where or what it means.Lopur94
Hi, did you guys not read what I posted? "Let's go on a bell" is a film industry term. It's like when you hear folks yelling "quiet on the set." I am not making this up and I also can't believe that nowhere on the Internet seems to document this definition. I've just finished taking a TV/Film acting course taught by a longtime SAG member who had this term as one of the required learnings so much so that he asked for it's definition on our Final Exam. I'd like to think that it wasn't that you folks are disregarding my input because I don't have four-digits worth of posts to my name.

I guess we'll never know what the phrase means.

If you gave some context, people might be able to help out a bit more.bkno4u

I've heard of 'going on a tear [like tearing something apart]'...muthsera666
Usually when you say that you or someone is "going on a tear" it means they are having fun or a good time.

"Let's go on a bell" is a film industry term meaning "everyone quiet, shooting begins soon." It's also synonymous with "on a redlight."
