[QUOTE="chimera1984"]If its anything like japan, they will be cheaper over the PS Store, sony stated to re-imburse launch users for the expensive memory cards downloadable titles will be at a greatly reduced cost, think it was like 40% off in japanSaudiFury
I for one. hope you are right man.

Yeah me too, but this is SCEE and SCEA were talking about, were probably gonna get shafted over, lol! But yeah in japan, games were around 30-40% cheaper on the ps store for the first 2 weeks i believe. For example, Hot Shots Golf 6 (Everybodys Golf to normal folk) was about 7000 yen, which is about $90/£59 (given exchange rates today) in store, on the PS Store it was sold for 4900 yen to launch users £41/$60 - so thats about a 30% saving.

But obviously the dollar and pounds are much stronger against the yen at the moment, so the exchange rates are pretty dire.

L3 and R3 are non resident on the ps vita as of yet, the sticks do not press down to act as a button, however, the L2 and R2 during remote play only factors if the game is compatible, the Killzone 3 remote play that was demo'd didnt work with the back panel or the front panel. Also remote play to the vita is being pushed heavily as a mandatory feature in all ps3 software from now on, though it appears devs are not too keen on the idea so its being worked on, however all 1st party software will be capable from now on, so killzone, resistance, uncharted etc..... PS3 trophies ding as certain things happen in game, regardless of remote play or not, as long as your signed in to your psn account and the action happens, the trophy will be unlocked and will auto sync with the playstation network as well. So yes ps3 trophies can be unlocked during remote play simply because the ps3 is still running the software its only streaming the image.

Not to bring up other systems, but it is funny that people complain that the Vita costs as much as a PS3, but the 3DS costs more than Wii.

[QUOTE="chimera1984"][QUOTE="j2zon2591"] It's mostly about accessibility and simplicity. No excess baggage, no extra bags, no extra bulge and another free pocket. 1 device to "rule" them all. He must also enjoy those bite sized games on the go. just maybe...AmazonTreeBoa

Does the Iphone have analog sticks, does it have games with the capabailties of the Vita? Its not a gaming machine, it just has games on it, thats the way all smartphones should be percieved. Everyone loves angry birds, but when are you likely to see killzone 3 being played on an iphone style device?

 You can tell you just came in here to troll because you don't know sh!t about smartphones or their games. For starters you are talking about the iPhone in the Android forums. And eww no thanks to the idea of analog sticks on my phone. It I want analog sticks, I will buy a Vita. And if you don't want to look like a dumbass in the future, don't mention Angry Birds. That's the game all the idiots mention that know nothing about smartphone gaming because that's the only game they have heard of before for smartphones.

For a start, i own a iphone and a samsung galaxy s2, so i have both an android and ios device, i just used angry birds as an example of the mainstream style apps you see on the device, and second i wasnt trolling, my point is smartphone gaming is out there, but 90% of the apps out there are solely to entice the casual user (e.g. angry birds/fruit ninja's), yes there are serious gaming apps out there on those platforms, the rehashes of monkey island, final fantasy's etc, your infinity blades and Zenoia's, but the fact is, smartphones always will be produced for the casual user in mind (bar the Sony Xperia Play), the vita is a serious gaming device designed for the more hardcore market.

Now that Vita has 2 analog sticks and more power, they might port some of the PS2 games like the God of Wars and MGS.

Apparently sony are scheduled to announce full ps1 and ps2 backwards compatability to increase sales! And retailers are likely to force a price drop to shift the device faster.

Its not the best camera from what ive seen and the battery could have been a little better, granted, but the fact is, how many handheld devices have the power of the vita? There arent many if any. But the fact is, if you was on a full 3d game on an ipad or iphone the battery life wouldnt be much better, yes the camera is better on the iphone, but and heres the big sell point, the potential of the device is pretty unlimited at the moment, especially given the fact that ps1 and ps2 titles may be able to be used on the device in the future. Also the release tites were very much geared for western launch, personally I think the sales flop comes down to 2 reasons, the price of the device/memory cards, and the fact the 3g model isnt in demand. Its not a failiure yet, give it till summer this year and see what happens.

[QUOTE="AmazonTreeBoa"]I bought my phone to play games. If I didn't care to play games, I wouldn't have bothered with getting a smartphone. I would have just gotten a normal boring everyday cell phone.j2zon2591

Quick question: why pay on a monthly basis to do something that you can do for free using another dedicated device?

It's mostly about accessibility and simplicity. No excess baggage, no extra bags, no extra bulge and another free pocket. 1 device to "rule" them all. He must also enjoy those bite sized games on the go. just maybe...

[QUOTE="pela_yo"]

I agree with you for the most part. However, when you say that people don't get a smartphone to play games that seems a bit off to me. Obviously not everyone but a lot of people get a smartphone, instead of a regular phone just so they can play angry birds. Double_Wide

Then these people are complete idiots and deserve to be within the "99%"

lol, agreed, but i love angry birds

Yeah i agree with this, personally id much rather it be $250 than the £229 were paying in the UK, anything sub £200 id be very happy with given VAT over here etc, but its a very high spec machine, and im looking forward to getting my hands on one, as for a few points, it appears the battery life of the 3g is averaging about 4 hours, the wifi model is apparently averaging about 6-7 hours (according to users posting vlogs on youtube being used on an average day) which i think is very substantial, the memory card prices are a little heavy but ill accept the hit on that one as there likely to drop in price prior to release, But the thing that got me to pre-order it was the sheer quality and potential the machine has got, no device out there utilises Augmented Reality any where near is good as the PS Vita is capable, and people seem to forget that it contains full sixaxis motion controlling, and 2 multi-touch panels. Im personally happy with the devices specs, and roll on feb 22nd.
