@Iffy350 @chrisbeaumont @SkiloSP @Juan1988 i can't say that it'll never happen, but we have so many processes in place to stop ads from doing anything bad to your computer that it's incredibly unlikely to happen. And popup blocker was a good thing because it stopped your computer doing annoying things you didn't ask it to do, not because of malware. We take your concerns really seriously and are a responsible publisher. If you use Ad Blocker, you have to be aware that you're causing a *lot* of damage to publications such as GameSpot.
@Iffy350 no every link you click on our site *costs* us money when you use ad blocker. We have to pay the costs of producing the content, and the cost of hosting it and delivering it to your browser, but without any ad served, we get nothing. So you're costing us by using ad blocker!
@Iffy350 we all have our reasons for doing things, but i don't use ad block and i've never once gotten spyware or adware through an advert. Using ad block is a serious problem for our industry, and sooner or later something is going to have to give. Just remember this when sites have to start charging money for their content. This will be remembered as the great "free" age of the internet, and in all likelihood it will end because people use things like ad-blocker!
