@VooDooPC: Xbox One used vibrating triggers to great effect for making guns feel different, particularly Sunset Overdrive and GTA V. It's really cool, but how much praise does that feature get anyways? Vibrating triggers were awesome on Xbox One but very few games ever used them. Also, using the trigger tension to make weapons feel different was an idea Sony mentioned as a possibility when the DualSense was announced!

@leugenesmiff: The console developers will probably never want to share their technology because it's kinda the main unique feature to consoles these days. Xbox Series and PS5 are very closely matched in terms of graphical power, so now the only thing to make a customer choose one console over the other is either the exclusive games or other gimmicks such as the vibrating triggers.

I didn't really consider it, but now that I think about it, most multiplatform games for Xbox One were the only ones that never made use of the vibrating triggers. The only game I'm aware of off the top of my head is GTA V, and Rockstar used the vibrating triggers to great effect with GTA V. It's especially disappointing when racing games don't utilize the vibrating triggers on Xbox! I'm guessing the devs of multiplatform racing games are probably not going to utilize the new DualSense triggers since it's an extra step for them and will require extra time to utilize, so it'll just not have anything.

The graphics are always the talk of the town anyways, so the new DualSense features are most likely going to never be brought up, even if they are used in a game. I loved the Xbox One's vibrating triggers but even in games like Sunset Overdrive which used them really well, the game didn't get much attention for it. I'd buy the Xbox One version of a game over the PS4 version if the game had vibrating trigger support, because it's a really nice touch! It's an example of one of the gimmicks that's not going to sell a game or game console, but if it's used to great effect I'd choose the vibrating triggers over standard triggers. PS4 and Xbox One multiplatorm games are really close graphically, so after that it comes down to who has the best features. A game like GTA 5 I'd play the Xbox version because I love the vibrating triggers and having extra buttons on the bottom of the controller with my Elite controller is a must for GTA V.

The 80m Pokestop radius is must-have feature just for playability reasons, not limited to covid reasons. Niantic puts some Pokestops in really stupid places like at highway onramps where you can't walk since there's no sidewalk, or inside private properties. Maybe if Niantic were smart about where they have Pokestops, the 40m radius wouldn't be a problem!

@kvkrishnakanth: Sony really screwed up in the early days of PS+ when they'd give you 2 free AA or AAA PS3 games, 3 AAA PSX games and 2 Vita games. It was so good but after awhile they started running out of AAA PSX games and eventually stopped giving out PSX games every month. Right around the time PS4 came out and PS+ was mandatory, they started getting super stingy with the games.

@sippio: I'll tell you why they do it. It's make it feel like paying to play video games you already own seems like a good deal. Back when PS+ was new and optional, they gave out a ton of free games. The other benefits to having PS+ weren't too particularly amazing so they had to throw in a bunch of games to make it more worthwhile. I remember getting PS+ mostly because I really wanted the automatic update feature, which is something Sony somehow can't figure out how to do on a PS4 still! I know you're supposed to put your PS4 in rest mode so it can automatically update in the background, but that always screws up my USB hard drive! If PS+ games were free then no one would ever renew, just pay for the month with the awesome games and never renew.

That's an old game! I haven't played Hitman 2 since the PS2 days. I hope it's the game for September.

@nargg: Xbox wins in the controller department, especially with the amazing controller that is the Series 2 Elite controller. I don't care about having fancy vibration or interactive triggers - I'll take having 4 extra buttons on the bottom of my controller any day. As well as being able to remap the face buttons. Sony should at least be able to do that much, but no, you're stuck with whatever crappy button mapping the devs think is good.

Adaptive triggers are an interesting idea, but it's going to be yet another gimmick very few devs ever utilize. I really enjoyed the Xbox One's vibrating triggers, but very few games ever made use of them. Think about all the other underutilized features of previous PlayStations - light bar and touch pad for the DualShock 4; Sixaxis for the DualShock 3; pressure-sensitive face buttons, bumpers, triggers, and D-pad on the DualShock 2; rear touchpad on the Vita; the whole "Second Screen" feature of the Xperia PlayStation phones and PSP/Vita! Everything Sony puts out has some awesome new feature but it will most likely get ignored or barely get any use at all.
