I'm not planning on getting a next-gen console until they've been out for at least a year especially due to the potential problems that they may have, especially with the 360 early on. Not to mention that the full potential of the current-gen wasn't even touched for a few years into the life cycle. Additionally, I want some reviews on the systems and how they'll perform. I was already planning on waiting until Black Friday, Cyber Monday 2014 to get a console.
I've always wanted to build a nice gaming PC anyways.
@Reverend_Wilson Yes. On consoles for $39 for the normal version and $59 for the collector's addition. There is the PC release as well. It seems like most of the news for this game is only on UK, AU and EU release dates. The game is slated to be released in the US on the 13th.
@Landsharkk Agreed. Both companies were going to announce their new consoles this year, nothing caught them MS by surprise. That Sony exec is just pumping misinformation. EVERYONE knew about the press conference.
Unlike Sony, who will probably reveal their console at E3, MS will most likely show theirs when they have their event.
@OB_Shah Issus is spelled with an 'E' and I wasn't "crying" over anything. In a day and age where people have been hacking accounts, you really think that "privacy" settings are going to ensure privacy?
@Incubus420 I use to only own Sony gaming devices, until I bought my 360. In reality, this generation is going to come down to which company can provide the best console gaming experience [for me], not social experience. IF neither console provides then I'll be gaming on a new gaming PC.
The cloud and backwards capability is sweet, but nothing new. They are just finally putting more time in expanding and upgrading it. Sony's whole thing w/ gaming on the go is nothing more than a marketing ploy, similar to that of MS to include Kinect with the new Xbox. They want you to buy other products, such as their Vita and their phones, (no different than any other corporation) but are making it accessible for those that enjoy other products.
@swantn5 Agreed. I could care less about the social integration. I want to play video games. I enjoy the single player experiences and co-op, that is it. I disagree with the use of real names and that is because I value my privacy [and because Sony f'd up the privacy of its consumers]. Your "real" friends know who you are on the console.
@Zaistev_basic @Timaetaj The problem is that people will bring lawsuits based on the fact that they own a product and should have the right to sell it. Just this week, the German Federation of Consumer Organizations is suing Valve, because they believe the consumer should have the right to sell.
Keep in mind this is in Germany, so one could only imagine what backlash Sony and MS would incur if they actually limited game ownership to one person in America, where lawsuits have become the "new American Dream."
@icebox98 Agreed. But in reality this all falls on the parents who can buy these games if they believe their child is "mature" enough. No different than buying a ticket for an R-rated movie.
