with our econmy the way it is, places every day are cutting jobs left and right, even some of our beloved gaming industries are scaling back. for the young readers out there who dont understand whats going on our country is struggling midely, to put it loosly. my main question to u gamers outt here are we in trouble? could some of our beloved games, and companies get axed, no more gta, no more madden, orhalo 15. i pray for our country, obv there are much bigger things out there, they a computer program. just a tad scary when everyday it seems more jobs are being lost id hate to lose whatwe hold so dear our xbox, ps 2 and 3, wii and psp alike.

also for the young readers out there be thank ful if u got a next gen system for the holidays be very grateful, in our times it is extremly tough.give ol mom or dad a hug, or whomever makes your x- mas worthwhile.

north america is the country im refering to for our foreign friends

this will beA FIARLY long post so if that sorta thing bugs u move on please.

i just wanted to share my broken 360 experience with everyone, my 360 broke roughly a month ago thinking i was only under a year warrenty i thought id cut some $ corners and get it done locally, big mistake as it promply broke 3 days later , the dreaded e-74 he also replaced one of the parts, so i obv was quite upset when it broke, so i went thru the process of sending it in, i actually made a post earlier , 3 weeks ago maybe, asking since said dumbazz replaced a main part of the core processer. well turns out i was still under warrenty, but i was told only had 1 year, and the system was 15 months old..

anyways sent it in just paid 4 shipping, and i kept expecting an email or phone call saying i voided my warrenty for opening it up as thats what i was told, some by u everyone said it would return broke. well i keep checking the xbox.com repair process, and it all seemed legit, well out of luck ora pure oddity i have my 360 back no complaints, works fine.

just wanted to share this and maybe even if u **** w/ it or something there is hope, i fully expected my 360 to be void, but they fixed it i didnt pay nothing maybe they are so used to fixing them they assumed mine was no different, sorry for not posting in the officail broken thread, but i wanted people to see it.

also i may of mispelled a word or two dnt flame

thank u

I got a 360 for Christmas and am looking forward to getting a subscription to Xbox Live, but before I shell out the money for a network adapter I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not the service operates on a satellite wireless internet connection. I don't want to spend the money if I can't use the service

i have satalite, and although not the best service compared toa modem, it works if u get a wireless adapter, u have to call your whoever and tell them your mac numbers i belive, alos my nat is neevr open, other than that it ok, noit terrible, not great does the job though

You have a few alternatives, actually. The most simple and easiest solution is to buy the official adapter, but it is pricey. However, you can:

(1) Buy a long ethernet cable to connect your Xbox 360 to router/modem.
Price:
$10-$50

(2) Use a nearby desktop PC or laptop to bridge connections.
Price:
Free (unless you need to buy a NIC, or another cable)

(3) Use a old/cheap router, with special firmware (DD-WRT) to change the settings to "client mode." Here's what I'm talking about.
Price:
Free-$50

If you have any questions about any given solution, feel free to ask. Of course, there's always Google as well if necessary. Happy New Year, and enjoy your new Xbox 360.:)

If the warranty is voided, you can fix the RRoD yourself. It is a surprisingly simple process, too!MasonB15

doesnt seem to simple to me
