The reason we have more mandatory installs on the ps3 is because of bluray. Bluray has such an obscene amount of information on it that it woudl take forever to find all the information to load it. It becomes much quicker to run things off the hard drive rather then straight off the disk. So we can have the mandatory installs, we'd have ridiculus load times. Me? I'll take the installs anyday.
There are two things I don't like about my ps3, both have been mentioned
1) Lack of developer support. The ps3 is easilly the most advanced system on the market, so why doesn't it show it? cause it is harder to develop on the ps3. Its much easier to develop for the other guys, then give us half a$$ed ports, making our system look bad.
2) Sony's initial attempt to make this a multi-media machine. They seemed more focused on the multi-media part then the game part. I think recently is is becomeing more of a game machine that is also a multi-media machine. But maybe that is just because we are finally getting some Awsome games.
2.5) The small hard drive. Not so much a real complaint, cause I planed on updating it when i bought it anyway, but it is a small something i don't like about my ps3, so i decided to add it.
