Garfield Fun, Florida, GTAIV, and the Original Star Ocean!
by clownofpoetry on Comments
"Our greatest glory is not never falling, it is rising after everytime we fall."
- Confucius
Hello everybody! Hello Dr. Nick! I'm going to be going to Florida for a week starting Friday to the 27th! :D My pal is getting married so he's paying for me to go. My room has a jacuzzi and my rental car has a GPS! I hear that they have wireless internet so am taking my laptop and report from there. But I'll probably be too busy with my beaches, pools, and other things. So, if I'm not here, you'll know why.
I beat GTAIV in 28 hours and 30 minutes! :D So I got the achievement for under 30 hours. No, I didn't rush through it, no I didn't skip the cutscenes, I just played it. It was hilarious and great as always. It's not as bad as one would think unless you aren't used to GTA games. It's an overrated achievement that isn't very hard at all. I also had time to drink with Jacob, ride the helicopters with Brucie, etc etc. You can beat it and have fun with your friends too. That said, let's continue onward shall we?
Recently, I found a ROM with Star Ocean on it. The original one that never came to the states. However, it was translated by deJap and now I'm playing it. This is like an open ended game where you can choose what you want to do, build relationships, or not, etc etc. It's pretty sweet to find a game like this before its time. Especially when it's an RPG. It's giving Chrono Trigger a run for its money for me. We'll see how it plays out. I'm only 3 hours into it.
When I return from Florida. I'll write.................... LOLcat Story II!
In the meantime, I'm goofing off. I found ways to make Garfield even more funny than it already is. Lasagnacat is a website where they reenact Garfield comics and set them to music. It's bloody funny and sometimes artistic. I love it.
Another form of Garfield related fun is.... taking Garfield completely out of the strip! Leaving Jon to talk to himself. Garfield Minus Garfield is what it's called. Here's an example. :D
When you can take Garfield completely out. Here's one that leaves him in. Not sure what it's called but pay attention to the eyes! :D
On the note of leaving in Garfield. Imagine it like this. Take Garfield's thought bubbles away and watch.
Now that's taken care of. Here comes my favorite Garfield.. RANDOMIZED! :D Take 3 random shots, put them together and you make pure awesomeness. The first one is mine, the others are various peoples. You can do it too! :D Here ya go. Garfield Randomizer
I like to call it. Claustrophobic Garfield.
Have a wonderful time with me being almost gone! See you all soon. :) Don't forget to randomize Garfield on the way out. :P
Music Tag! Wooooo????
by clownofpoetry on Comments
jpgalindo has tagged me yet again. To do this awesome taggity, I must show the 7 songs I am listening to right now. I think. Here they be, lol. I wanted to have it up earlier but I had a family emergency. It's over now so no worries everyone.
7. Time of the Season - The Zombies
A lovely song from the 60's. It's greatness. Love the beat. hehe.
6. Peaches En Regalia - Frank Zappa
Who loves a strange composer of awesome rock music? I do! :D Zappa's music is amazing and obsure. This instrumental is a celebration of sound! Take a listen and you will be amazed!
5. Frosti - Bjork
Bjork's music is interesing to say the least. This song feels like winter to me. I feel like I learn something new after every listen.
4. The Great Beyond - REM
It's just so surreal and the lyrics are brilliant.
3. Foundations - Kate Nash
Quirky, beautiful voice.
2. I Should Have Known Better - The Beatles
Not a popular choice of the Beatles but great none the less.
1. In the Kingdom of the Blind, The One-Eyed Are Kings - Dead Can Dance
You want to talk about music that is old. This music is OLD. Dead Can Dance started in 1981 anad broke up in 1995. Yet, the music they played varies culture to culture, ie. African Tribal music, Celtic hymns, etc. Time to time, Renaissance, Middle Ages, and more. Most importantly spirit to spirit. This isn't even my favorite song by them, but it sure is amazing.
Again, I won't tag anyone. That is if you all take a look into my list. If not, I may have to consider. Muahahahaha..
Happy Mother's Day! :D
GTA IV Thoughts and my Grades!
by clownofpoetry on Comments
Well, I got coupons in the mail from Best Buy. 30 bucks worth of them in fact. For anything I should desire. My brain was in turmoil. What should I get? Brawl? Mario Kart? Points for downloadable songs with Rock Band? I thought long and hard about it and my mind went with GTA IV. I got it, popped it in. And haven't seemed to get my hands off it since. I was going to do this earlier, but NOOOO my hands were wrapped around my 360 controller. Well, it's here now, lol.
Positive Thoughts
You can never see the same person twice in this game. WOW!
It is hilarious and funny as always.
Missions are varied and expansive. Sometimes even crazy. It's all good.
Negative Thoughts
It's way too easy to spin out in this game. I often wreck unwillingly. I found using first person mode very helpful.
When gun fighting. It's fine until someone gets behind you. Then it gets all insane. I lose a lot of my health this way. Sometimes even dieing.
During lock on mode, it's hard to go to free aim. In cl@$$c mode that is. I prefer to use cl@$$c since it's how I played since 2001. You'll wind up pointing at civilians when you are simply trying to shoot one of those blasted pigeons.
Mixed Thoughts
It's so big and distracting. I'm trying to beat it under 30 hours, but it's so hard. Especially when I try to do a mission and wind up drinking with Jacob. It's hilarious but so irrelevant to the story, lol.
It's great that you can listen to the custom soundtracks. However, they carry over in cutscenes. It's weird to hear Niko having a convo with Roman while listening to "Don't Eat the Yellow Snow" by Frank Zappa.
The police circle can be so annoying and so helpful. Trying to get away from the cops can be easy as pie or hard as a 20 year old cabbage. It's just insane at times. It took me like 10 minutes to get away from a two star wanted level one time. Gosh, that's just crazy.
Well, that's all I have for now. Have a wonderful week see you soon. :)
Before I forget, I got my grades from college. Two B's, an A-, and a A. Hurray :D

Ophald the Magnificent
by clownofpoetry on Comments
In the sake of awesome picture stories. Here's my version.
There was once a dog named Ophald.
Ophald walked down the street one day and saw a wise old walrus named Telfair.
Ophald asked Telfair, "which way to Buffalo? I'm on my way to a "Family Circus."
Telfair replied, "You'll have to excuse me, I'm in the middle of a prank phone call on my Bluetooth."
"Hello sir, my name is Terry Bradshaw and I would like to sign your sister to the Pittsburg Steelers. Yes I called using 10-10-220. Please hold."
"You take Hulk Hogan Avenue, turn left on Gary Coleman Drive, then you turn right on Vanilla Ice Street after three blocks."
"Thank you sir", replied Ophald.
He followed the instructions until he reached the Family Circus. He jumped in joy! He entered to find Astronaut Don Knotts and Vampire James Brown fighting.
Ophald asked, "stop fighting before i goez lolcat on j00"
The two men stop fighting and ask Ophald, "how do you speak anyway? Are we just high?"
Ophald replies, "NO! You are not high! You are on the ground. I am Ophald the Magnificent! Watch me do a flip then vanish!"
Suddenly, we realize, the world is stopped.
And Ophald is actually... AXEL CRAP with a baseball bat!
Then we understand that we are brainwashed by a swirley thing.
We wake up to a hypnotist. Who says, "Welcome to your future, MAYOR QUIMBY!"
END!
I'm not going to tag anyone with this. Instead everyone will enjoy. Yay!

Spring Break: Birth and Death
by clownofpoetry on Comments
"Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transition that's troublesome."
- Isaac Asimov
So a lot has been going on since my last blog. Been busy, been a bit crazy as usual. It's just a combination of all emotions rippling in the mind of me. I'm just trying to keep my smile and walk along the world with my own brand of weird. Alas, here we start.
My cousin gave birth to a baby girl on the 26th of February. A day before my birthday. Strangely enough. It happens more times than one would imagine. I could go into details but lots of birthdays are stringed together somehow in my family. It's a weird coincidence but it's always good to have new family.I've been behind in one of my courses because of a lot of strange things happening. I've been sick and other things too.
My laptops stopped working so I went to a different brand. Now I am much happier with it. I'm still trying to keep my cool. Because...my dog had to put to sleep today. She just left and I am a tad emotional. I've had her for 15 years. She had an infection that could have spread to her brain. So they are letting her go before she suffers. I know she'll be happy and all, but it's still hard to come to grips with it. Once I can muster the courage, I'll put up a picture of her. She was a good dog, hyper sometimes, spoiled beyond anything else.
Now I have my two cats whom can tell something is up. They are clinging to me. It's been a crazy spring break, and I hope that everything is well with you guys and gals. Sorry for lack of blog. With college and other things flying around, it's a tad messy. Thanks for reading, as always. You know I appreciate it. :)
