Oh my goodness, I had no idea that people were gonna go this far with my small opinion of a game. i understand this game has a huge fan base, and that a lot of people like it, but to go as low as to insult me just because I liked another game more than Crysis, and you didn't? That was what I didn't appreciate. I didn't say that Crysis was the worst game in the world, I just said that it was ok, and ok is good! I did enjoy Far Cry 2 more, but that's just my taste. Remember a little game called "E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial" back in the 80's for atari? And how everyone thought that game was an atrocity? It might have been, but I'm sure that there was this one kid who played the hell out of that game and loved it. Should we judge him for enjoying a game that seemingly no one else loves? Well why judge me because I picked Far Cry 2 over Crysis? Who cares!??? I know I don't. Crysis is a wonderful step in modern gaming, and shows that there is a lot we can achieve in the gaming future, but the gameplay itself is not as much as an incredible achievement as the engine it is running on. So just think before you judge someone like the way you judged me, because you don't know the person you are judging and they don't know you. I guess I'll just stick to doing low-end tests of high end games. Out...

I know A LOT of people are going to disagree, but I really did try to like this game, but I just couldn't! It is very very good looking though, but with games like dead space, gta4, and far cry 2 out, I don't see why there is any reason to put up with the games "ok" gameplay. Go ahead, get mad. I DIDN'T LIKE CRYSIS!!!! I think I can hear the gates of hell opening up...

You know what, I've never really played Crysis. I've seen it though, it sure looks VERY good and the gameplay...well, I suppose it can be fun but I never thought its all that, though.

But when in one sentence, you said why people should put up with an "OK" gameplay when they have games like Farcry 2...You are a troll.

Wow, am I the only person who enjoyed Far Cry 2??? I do have a weird taste.

Sounds like you need attention... and you are literally begging people to hate you for not liking Crysis.

Just to spoil your attempt at fame, I wont comment, other than to say Crysis is a Great game.

I don't want to sound mean but I don't really think anyone cares on these boards since most of us have mid-high end builds.

Actually, I've been getting good responses. I not only do this to help gamers with old PC's out, but some people are actually amazed at what old computers can do, if you missed my older topic about this same computer running Crysis, you should check it out.

Why can't you just update one of the two threads you already made?

Sporknife

They would become too big and cumbersome to read, by doing one game at a time, it helps the reader focus on that one game without being distracted by the Crysis or Gears of War segment of the topic. Besides, Left 4 Dead deserves it's own thread, to me, it's just that good. Had to get the word out. Her's an example of what I mean...

Ok, this has to be the most surprising and astounding test I have ever done. I actually couldn't believe it when I performed this test. Left 4 Dead is known for it's very demanding nature, ecspecially when it comes to the cpu department. When i did this test I had extremely low expectations, I didn't even think I would get over 15 fps. Boy was I wrong...

TEST SYSTEM SPECS:

Intel Celeron 2.2 ghz

nVidia 6200 OC 256 mb

2 gigs of factory ram

LEFT 4 DEAD:

Ok, this was very surprising, the game ran at a perfect 60 fps nearly through the whole game with all graphics setting other than resolution at low. With more than 25 characters on screen the fpps dropped between 5-20 fps.

SETTINGS USED:

Screen Resolution - 640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768. (above 10x7 were not tested.) The game ran perfectly at these three resolutions with all graphics on low.

Texture quality - low

Shader Quality - low

Texture Filter - Bilinear

Page memory file usage - low

SIDE NOTE:

The game ran at great speeds, yet for some strange reason, lighting and shaders were permantly disabled and could not be turned on. It was very strange, no matter what I tried, lighting did not work! it kind of reminded me of the PC port of Resident Evil 4.

Once again, with my old test computer, and it's super slow 6200, I take on Gears of war. This game is notorious on every computer woth it's horrible lag and various bugs. i decided to test this one out just out of pure curiosity.

TEST SYSTEM SPECS:

Intel Celeron 2.2 ghz

nVidia 6200 OC 256mb

2 gigs of factory ram

GEARS OF WAR:

The game actually ran the exact way I expected, slow, but playable. In fact, it never at one time during play, dipped below 15 fps! The worse time in the game, was during the "Angry Titan" boss battle where I got a horrible 4 fps. I did get a full 60 fps out of the game a lot of times.

Screen Resolution - 800x600. 1024x768 and above are unplayable.

Post Proccesing - Mute, with the quality set to low.

Texture Quality - High

Character Quality - High

Aliasing - Was disabled by default and couldn't be turned on no matter what.
