[QUOTE="ShmenonPie"]So what if the Halo launch is huge? It doesn't mean that Halo is a good series, does it? No, because Halo is an average, very overrated series. I could understand if one review gave it a bloated score, but how can people be so deluded into thinking this is any better than games like Timesplitters 2, and Unreal Tournament? It isn't, it's just a slow paced shooter with too big a focus on multiplayer.JediRiff

Nice try at damage control, but Halo is far from mediocre..people who say that are either jealous or just plain stupid!

My friend has an Xbox and we played Halo 2 a few times, and to be honest, it was a teeny bit boring. i don't see why everyone adores it so much. Hopefully for you 360 guys the graphics get better, Master Chief looked like he was made out of legos in the old ones. ... :? Dunno, Halo just didn't stick with me.

And no game will ever win over everyone, either. Thats just a simple fact. I hate that it didnt get you hooked, but I can certainly respect someone who says, "Hey, it wasnt for me" alot more than these Halo-haters who simply bash it because they are either A) Jealous as hell, or B) cant play it or, perhaps both. Heck, they are probably A, BECAUSE of option B. ;)

And actually, I'd probably like it a little better now, since I've gotten used to FPS games. Back then, I hated them, but now, I've played quite a few, and I'm sure it would be more enjoyable. But, that's irrelevant, I'm not loaded and the PS3 has Ratchet and Clank. Case closed.

There is no coming proce DROP. There is a new SKU rumored. The 80gig is still going to be $600, although it was announced as a limited edition so it may disappear eventually.

It would be odd for Sony to discontinue the $600 80gig and announce a $400 40gig considering how much boasting they have done about the HD size. They can't seem to make up their minds about it. Is +40gigs and Motorstorm really worth the extra $200? Absolutely not. Sony seems to think so though. Idiots.

It has just been one misfire after another with them.

They need to scrap all their SKU's and announce a PS3 with NO harddrive at all, then brand several different capacity hard drives for sale individually. Mark this PS3 at the more then reasonable price of $350 and pack it in with a voucher for either a free 20-40gig HD with purchase, or a marginal price reduction off the higher capacity drives.

We all know the HD's are easily swapped in and out. For some reason Sony seems to think we have forgotten this and are trying to charge an arm and a leg for swapping them for you.

Bgrngod

That would be the biggest mistake ever. Making the harddrive mandatory secured the 1st place postion for Sony....in the future.

The hard drive would stillbe required, which is why I mentioned including a voucher for a free 20 or 40gig. :|

Grab your base system, then pick your features, and all while maintaining a single base price of $350 for a PS3.

And no, it hasn't secured 1st for them at all.

Nice sig/home.

[QUOTE="confucioussayyo"] Would 40 gig have wifi?-Spock-

"The FCC have approved the Wi-fi functionality in an upcoming 40GB model."

Yes, it would. There are pictures of the Wi-fi logo on the new 40GB packaging.

I know which version I'm getting, then. Only reason I wasn't considering the 20 gig in the first place.

[QUOTE="confucioussayyo"]When is PS3 supposed to drop to $399?Bgrngod

The announcement will supposedly come at TGS this week. Whatever the price, we do know know that a new SKU is coming. The FCC have approved the Wi-fi functionality in an upcoming 40GB model.

Maybe I'm retarded, but what is an SKU? My sig does not lie. :?

A SKU is a differently packaged/marketted version, not a different model number. The model numbers change all the time as they make small tweaks to the design etc. Several different model numbers are often all the same SKU since they do not change the packaging and the marketting between model numbers. A new SKU is going to come with different packaging for marking features etc.

If you go to the store and see three different "types" of 360's, those are all different SKU's. Where as a few months later you may go in and see the same three SKU's but in those boxes the individual units have changed model numbers because any small change to the design requires a version number (model number) change.

Technically a SKU is the barcode on the packaging that stores scan to get their registers to pull up the price etc. The SKU will be different for the differently priced packages. One SKU will pull up $350 will another pulls up $450.

That means the 40 gig?
