Let's make a rundown of each in the order they were presented. Take note I will not be thorough I will only comment on those I can remember off the top of my head as they will most likely be the most relevant.
Microsoft
Ok so they started with Call of Duty Black Ops, namely, another sequel to a shooter. Later on they demo Gears of War 3 and Halo Reach. This was all well and good except they let the game demos speak for themselves? Not only did they look like complete retards for disregarding the audience as if they didn't exist, we had to sit awkwardly while watching them play games without commentary. After the demos they strategically unveil MGS Rising as if it was an exclusive. Then the guy who developed Fable 3 shows up in a snooty way and presents the trailer for his game which was mostly underwhelming and a bit egotistical(Am I the only one who noticed he kinda looked like one of the characters in there). This is pretty much the first half dedicated for the "hardcore" market. The second half deals mainly with the Kinect demos.
Now I can see why MS would stoop this low, since they definitely want a piece of the casual games market. They have to expand their audience beyond the typical shooter games they have. And I can see their potential too in their social aspects as they seem quite polished as motion games that they are. Of course everyone cringed at the girl playing with Skittles, but you aren't the market for that, it's intended for the parents and the kiddies below 10 years old. The dance game I can see catching on to those who like to move on from the same old nintendo wii parties. I actually would've considered getting it to learn to dance in the privacy of my home, if I could ever live with myself for actually learning dancing at home lol. Then they unveiled the new 360, which definitely looks like an improvement, with its sleek sharp angles a contrast to the soft and feminine looking original. I will consider getting one if and only if the RROD is completely rid of and fixed, otherwise, no deal MS.
Highlights: Dance Central, Halo Reach Trailer
Lowlights: ESPN, No walkthrough/commentaries during demos, Kinectimals, Girl demoing the Kinect Driving game
Sony
Sony had their usual montage of various games on their platforms but I liked the one from last year better. Sony had a good presentation overall, and a very nice Stage design as well, with screens stretching end-to-end dynamically changing displays depending on the featured game and presenter. Sony conference mirrors what MS conference did, with hardcore games being featured first, except this time it's Killzone 3, Dead Space 2 and Medal of Honor. One disappointment with KZ3 is that it being pre-alpha code as shown during the 3D demo, it looked crappy compared to the clean and polished MS shooter demos. Add to that the dumb-looking jet pack that was clearly poorly designed to burn your hand, gun or face should you attempt to fly around. Kaz comes on stage to toot the 3D horn which is admirable in their push for cutting edge tech, but with the high cost of entry it doesnt wow like it's supposed to. Little Big Planet 2 seemed intriguing enough provided you had enough free time to utilize its game creation potentials. Finally GT5 finally gets a release date, with 3D and move being the probably culprits for its further delay. Infamous 2 and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood were equally unimpressive with their bland character models and boring premise. Early on than expected Sony presents its motion controller, Move.
Move is probably what the Wii motion control is supposed to be in terms of precision and responsiveness. They first showed off Sorcery which seems like a typical magic wielding protagonist (who is a boy, big surprise). Despite a few framerate stutters here and there, it has potential for sure for the lucky kiddies out there whose parents keep them in mind this holiday. The Tiger Woods demo was boring, just like actual golf, but hey, for the golf junkies who can't play during a storm, it's probably awesome.
Later near the end of the show are a couple of surprises such as Gabe Newell from Valve suddenly showing up to talk about Portal 2, which most will probably get for PC anyway and I didn't like the first one too much due to motion sickness like I got in Half-Life 2. Later on at the tail end of the show David Jaffe of God of War fame shows up to demo Twisted Metal for PS3. It was an alright game but again another game I have no interest in at the moment.
Highlights: Kevin Butler(At first), Sorcery demo, Gran Turismo 5 Trailer
Lowlights: Kevin Butler Speech/Rant about Gaming, Tiger Woods Demo, Marcus PSP marketing campaign was annoying

To Namco : When do we get Tekken 6?
To Square Enix : Why so stingy with the media? Release the high quality trailers to the public already! We're sick and tired of hearing from game site impressions! Be more like Konami, they spoiled us to death with their trailers and cutscenes. And they released their game already!

Holy $#!+, this is awesome. Video
Highlights were the appearances of Odin and Bahamut ZERO. ZOMG they look so much cooler now more than ever. I'm guessing they removed Bahamut ZERO's wings since there is no air in space after all, so flapping around there is senseless. Odin unsheathing his blade is badass. Man, I wish I could be part of the team making that.
Here's hoping that it'll arrive soon in the first quarter of next year.
Now where's the HD version?!
Downs and Upgrades

It's awesome, I get more mileage out of my PSP now, like reading ebooks, and playing PS1 games. Just started on Chrono Cross, since I never got the chance to finish it before(darn disc 2 failed on me). Though I've heard it'll be quite annoying on the disc swapping part though. Unfortunately, I had to delete it since I couldn't get my save files to load at arond the 7 hour mark. I dunno what's up with that.
Anyways, I had ordered a couple of games online and they still haven't arrived, and it's been a month already! I shouldn't have overestimated the reliability of our local Post Office lol. I just had to go the cheap route and choose the free delivery option lol. What's worse, nobody from the Bureau of Customs numbers I've been calling are answering! That leaves me to wait interminably for another 2 weeks, as I've heard it can take up to 6 weeks for the package to arrive. I hope they come sooner than later...
So a word of warning, better to pony up the extra cash for FEDEX delivery than going the cheap free delivery route from Play-Asia lol.
Requests to Sony
by conquerorsaint on Comments
The following are requests to Sony. I know this'll barely reach them but you could always hope. I only speak for myself in this matter, but these are definitely no-brainers on your part.
1. Don't take out the Emotion Engine from the PS3
I like to play my old PS1/PS2 games from time to time. Don't take backward compatibility for granted. If you're going to cut costs, find another way.
2. Hold on to your Exclusives
If you lose the remaining few, yeah, not rocket science.
3. Announce Rumble for Dual Shock 3 or Sixaxis Shock or whatever name you call it. SOON.
I'm still on the fence on buying a PS3 down the line because of the travesty that is ABSENCE OF RUMBLE from the controllers. And then making stupid excuses that make you look like a proud fool as a whole.
4. PS1 Games on PSP Emulation
Without a PS3 as intermediary. It's fricking 2007. It should've been able to in the first place out-of-the-box. And add more games. The ones everyone would like, like say, I don't know FINAL FANTASY VII, CHRONO CROSS, METAL GEAR SOLID among others. Thanks.
I know there are more, but this would be it for now.
On Firmware 3.00
by conquerorsaint on Comments
Requires Playstation 3 to download/access Playstation Network = Bad. Not getting one anytime soon and besides I don't have wi-fi access at home. Another firmware update for PSP-PSNetwork access?
Visualizer for music is okay not great. Too few choices.
UMD Auto-start toggle is great but should've been there since day one.
Camera feature I won't be using since I probably won't get one unless it's really cheap.
My firmware wishlist(in no particular order):
1. notes and/or reminders!
2. txt/pdf/doc compatibility!
3. multitasking!(access other features while music is playing, etc.)
4. game screenshot captures(make it so!).

It doesn't help either that another particular colleague is a dumbass. To give an idea, he doesn't know who Pontius Pilate is, and he's catholic. It is a stroke of miracle that I haven't clobbered the fool.
It has been nearly a month since those dumb@$$ comments were heard. And they may not fallen on deaf ears. Because nobody likes to work for a moron. And so I took it as providence that an acquaintance of mine enters the picture, who is working in the animation industry, who is a friend of a friend. And so now I fish him for information and stuff as to what is their entry-level employment opportunities are. I have good feelings for this company because my friend talks about it in high regard as to how he learned much from his stay there.
It is funny though that this was the case similarly two years and a month ago. I was nearing the end of a 3-month contractual at the company I interned for. And I was interviewed a few weeks before the end of the term. I took this job probably because it was most convenient at the time, definitely had a higher pay than the contractual job, was a stone's throw away where said contractual took place, and various others.
But of course I am taking my time, because jumping ship immediately would mean I would have to downgrade my salary in half. Which means I'll barely be able to keep up with the rent, food etc. My current option is to save a bit then jump ship once I have a sizeable buffer. However time is a luxury I do not have. I'm already a quarter of a century old, and not much to show for it. And although I want to quit doesn't mean that it's unbearable, It is quite easy for the most part actually. But it is also it's own downfall. You don't improve much with the same old thing done over and over again. But then again, it is also my own doing. Having placed myself in this position in the first place.
I could grin and bear it for the rest of my career, but then I would barely good for anything else. Because although in my current career (Web Design/Development) I am fairly competent, I'm not exactly blazing trails either.
My fervent hope meanwhile then is that either I come into a large sum of money in the immediate future (GOOD LUCK), or that I'll be able to save and rack up some sidelines to add to my buffer savings. All the while nagging the friend mentioned earlier (who I've sparred with in Tekken 5) for info on the career particulars.
At the end of the day though, it was a good wakeup call I guess. Because if to his dull eyes he cannot see improvement, then he just proved he is a dumbass. And so I guess I'll just take off to go and 'Improve' elsewhere then, where I might actually be appreciated.
Where previously it was a question of 'If', it is now merely a question of 'When.' Wish me luck.

$499 Downgraded PS3 - WTF
New Controller - w/o rumble, WTF. lousy wii ripoff LOL
The masses who supported PS2 arent going to buy PS3 especially with the absence of quality software. Really fearing for Sony this generation. This hobby is expensive enough as it is without it becoming nigh impractical in price.
As for the controller, why the hell can't sony make their own rumble technology? it's not exactly rocket science to make their own. and if they can't they should've just SETTLED it with Immersion, instead of removing a great feature from their controller.
Really disappointed at you, Sony.

The supposedly lowly kuma, was there in full bear brand glory. I suppose it was my hard headedness that tried to outpunch him and get slapped 99.9% of the time. Needless to say, I couldn't sleep that night, and decided to have a go at kuma in practice mode, trying and meddling with some things counter the accursed bear. Well enough of this rant, practice mode, here i come!
