Ya. When I wanna kill someone I put on my whip glove and fling em up in the air then shoot em in the ass with bottle rockets.

I can't roll my eyes any harder!

Quick, you guys. Down play a tragedy harder! Then people will forget we are the NRA!

As far as online goes, good.

They can do what they want offline.

This is an interesting concept. Even if this doesn't come out something like it may come of this. That would be interesting to see.

From the look of this short little thing the biggest problem might be the camera.

And I'll just send this into the ether, happy birt-day Tommy!

Wow. My comment was not intended to spark this kind of reaction and just for the record I do find credibility with many video game Journalists, across the web or otherwise (including Gamespot, which I've read off and on since like 1998 or something).

They make due with advertising out of necessity- and they are not alone. I don't know of any journalists or reporter of any kind that would get by otherwise, but that is not the point and a different discussion of the world we live in not intended for reply to this column.

I only mean to say that I am looking forward to the mediums continuing evolution and think that some good can come of all this.

Hopefully that makes sense. =)

In reference to the Wainwright scandal: I find all of this very important. More so then just another witch hunt- which I don't really see or partake in. I've played video games and read video game journalism for more than 20 years. It's always been obvious it is funded by that which it must also critique and always felt it can hold back some things- despite what I believe to be true intentions and wants to not be influenced.

I think this whole thing will be good for games journalism in the long run. I don't think the way it works now is quite so shady, although some people using the medium may be, but I have always wanted games journalism to be more. Much like video games themselves, I feel video game journalism needs to evolve and mature. For the most part I feel that's the direction it's been going, too, as we now have more personal stories on game developers and even though rare, sometimes we get real interviews with game publishers that ask the hard questions.

The video game industry is a weird one, journalists in it have to deal with stone walling and not being allowed to know or say things due to one reason or another. I feel that needs to change, at some point, or it will not be allowed to mature enough past that which it gets it's revenue from.

It's a difficult medium, I know, but with the way that things are going I also know that there are honest journalists out there trying to make it different- make it better.

It will be interesting to see how the medium evolves going forward. If it does at all. I believe it wants to, though.

I have a feeling this will be a lot like that XBOX Futurama game. Good fan service with the cut scenes but the game play is not that great. We'll see...

The cult following and devotion of the fans may make this re-release enhanced edition sell fairly decently. I will be interested how that turns out. A lot of people may buy this based on all the reaction to it.

Although, that's what happened when it originally released too haha

I didn't realize the trailer was controversial. Must be in one of those "focus" groups I hear so much about that isn't actually part of the gaming community as a whole and is asking people who don't even regularly play video games. Or maybe a forum hiding on the internet somewhere hating all video game trailers.

The only controversy for me is how bad that Vivica Fox "interview" trailer was and I'm interested to see how bad her performance is (or is not).

This was really great. I really enjoyed what Walt had to say to some of the opinions on the games direction, and narrative choices they made (especially the huge eye opener there... I never even considered that but I knew something crazy was going on due to certain things I noticed playing a second time... man that's nuts).

*Maybe Spoiler* One thing I wanted to say, at least my take on the phosphorous scene, and the disconnect some feel. I am an army veteran. In war sometimes you may feel there must be a second option, but in reality there is no other option in a moment and you take the immediate choice in front of you in the hopes of doing something that can lead to being something good. Even if your the one giving that command, it's not really a choice, in so much as it's what you have to do because you're there. I felt that scene, while (justifiably) can be said to be a bit "forced" by some, or should have been more binary, it ultimately succeeded because (again for me) it showed what it's really like for a soldier to have to make a choice like that. It is a choice, maybe not the one you wanted to make, but in that moment it was the choice you HAD to make. That is my take away from it, and I felt (as you guys said) the moment was important, anyway, to drive this story to where they wanted to go. Maybe could have been done better, but I got what they were going for with it and from my own experiences it felt "real" as a choice. If that makes sense.

Anyway, I really hope more games take a look at this one and at least consider the ideas it puts forward. I appreciate that most of what they were going for shines through and I felt, for me anyway, the game is a huge success at advancing how we even look at narrative in more genres of video game (which is largely not experimented with- possibly due to constraints of the medium- I really don't know).

So ya, this got me thinking about this story again and shed some more light on a few things and was all around a great listen.

Thanks.
