It was about 1:30 UK time, when I was thinking about going to bed when I heard that the new PS3 firmware is LIVE! Downloaded it after a few attempts, probably because everyone is rushing to download it. Now all I have to go to sleep and hopefully, by the time I wake up the PSN will be back online. Okay, so the PSN has been down for about 2 weeks now. I don't mind though, I want them to get the security upgrades right, not rush them out. It's also enabled me to get out of the straightjacket that is being addicted to playing MW2 online. I've been playing Mercs 2 mainly. So much so that I decided to re-review it, adding a lot of thoughts to it, making it a more thorough review. I've been playing it today, and I must say that it's in some ways a return to (in my opinion) the better Killzone 1. From what I've played so far, the campaign reminds me of Killzone in that it is a very focused trail through many different environments, showing off the whole planet, not just a single city. The story is also much better than Killzone 2 but not as good as Killzone, although the Helgast scenes in Killzone 3 really reminded me of the General Adams scenes in Killzone. Hopefully this initial impression will be borne out by the rest of the game.

I finally (no thanks to Tesco, I won't be using them again) got Black Ops today and I've been really enjoying the multiplayer, especially Gun Game. I'm trying to get some experience on there before lots of people become brilliant at it, then I'll delve in to the single-player. I've tried out the Theater mode, where you can upload games or short clips to YouTube, and here's my first video, of a lucky sniper kill I got in Gun Game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSHLD95CphA (Snipers come in to Gun Game in the last few tiers and are pretty hard to get kills with quite often, due to the manic, run-and-gun nature of Gun Game.

The PS3 aficionado has amassed a collection worthy of emulation. Sure this person could make use of thousands of PlayStation and PlayStation 2 titles, but that would be so 2001. Live in the now. I have a total of 90 games, 46 of which are PS3 games. My latest game is Fallout New Vegas, It's very, very good, very addictive.

Given the nature of the hype and supposed 'letdown' the MoH reboot was, I decided that I would do something drastic: write my first GS review in almost 6 months to give my honest opinion. I concluded that it was a solid game that could use with a lot of improvement, but was a step in the right direction. Burnout Paradise Elite - 7.42% unlocked (Awarded for successfully collecting all trophies from Burnout Paradise)
I've got my first Platinum trophy today, for Burnout Paradise. I'd managed to get the second-to-last trophy yesterday, the Mugshot or Smugshot one, as I got the Playstation Eye with the Move Starter Pack yesterday. I'm so glad I can now say I have a Platinum Trophy :D

I've just realised how many games are coming out that I want in the next few months. So many great games are coming out, but there's no way I'm going to be able to afford to buy all of them! I'm looking forward to so many games just this year: - Fallout: New Vegas - COD: Black Ops - Civ 5 - Assassins Creed: Brotherhood - Medal of Honor - LBP 2 - Force Unleashed 2 - Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit That would cost £300 if I bought all of them. But the only one I really want to sacrifice is NFS. That's still £260. I don't know what to do!
