I'm totally prepaired for that (they're only about $25.00 on zzf anyway). I was actually able to 'revive' an older drive once after a bad FW update by finding a workaround to re-flash it with a newer fw... so I just figured someone might have a trick for this

Unless you can find a workaround for your drive (very important) you are screwed and have to go and spend $25 to get a new one. If there is a workaround turn to the manufacturer or the many tech forums on the net.

Have tou checked all the connectors between your computer (im assuming) and your tv. If the pins are clean and they are connected properly then it is is most likley the cord or the computer. If it has lines going down the screen horizontal and diagonal while it still being fuzzy the GPU probably got fried. If the computer works properly on another tv or monitor it is the cord.

you can still check if they still work, just give them a go. If they don't work try compatability mode before you give up on them.

don't even bother with AA in crysis, it makes your frame rates dwindle and doesn't make anything look much better. My computer can run crysis on a tweaked very high config at 1680x1050 comfortably and the GTX280 is fractionally better than a 4870. If you want a good config have a look on www.crymod.com

1. they should work well together

2. Q9550 for a powerful core 2 duo such as a E8400 or an E8500 and OC, and use the leftover money to switch the 4870 for a 4890

3. They are a very good brand

not anymore you can get direct x10 with xp.

nagol726

WTF??? It isn't made by microsoft and most people will not trust third party developers from modifying their computer to that level.

The bottom line is that this will probably slow down your computer alot. Also the Alky project was abandoned long ago If you want DX10 dual boot with windows 7

Since you are not paying for it you may as well go crazy and get one of the best you can. A good notebook i found was the HP TX2. It is a tablet pc and is perfect for school. I really want one but im wating for the next gen processors for these notebooks.

That looks pretty good, you could switch the case for something else if you want to, you could also switch out the GTX 260 for a 4870 if you could find one in that price range.
